Congrats, apple!

You've got some great options in front of you!

Thanks Bretta! It'll be really hard to choose any school over UChi now.

Yeah. I've always maintained that the Ruby is the best possible outcome, at least for most interests. World-class school, full-tuition paid and a stipend?

I don't think it can be beat.

Congratulations, again--you've earned it!

This looks like it's shaping up to be a great URM Monday!

I'm heading to the April one now that I got my scholly. At first, I had UT #1 but until I hear of a scholarship offer from them, Vandy's probably my #1 option.

You waiting on any other schools?

I applied late, so I haven't heard anything back yet--except from Duke.

I really hope I don't have to sit out a cycle.

Not that I'm growing impatient, or anything. :?

Just keep your head up...

I don't necessarily think waiting out a year is a bad thing, so I wouldn't get down on that, and besides, good news can come when you least expect it. I mean, before today, I was expecting Vandy to cost around sticker. Now it's become a much more realistic option, so don't give up hope just yet.

Ordinarily, I would still be with you as far as waiting out a year, but my goals are probably different than a lot here, and I'm not BigLaw/PI or die, because a lot of medium sized & boutique firms in Texas still do quite well. Seeing as Vandy and Texas do quite well here, I'm content.

I will however, retake in June for scholly negotiations.

Congrats everyone on Rubys and the Vanderbilt scholarship!! I hope I'm not leaving anyone out. (I am still not sure how to get GIFs even though I can now...someone teach me, please!)

I just got the Ruby, too. I hope I see you guys at Chicago ASW :)

I'm in the midst of writing a requested "Why Texas?" right now and I'm waiting to hear back on scholarship money from Cornell. I don't think Georgetown has even looked at my application since it went complete (they haven't updated my status checker since the second week of January) and the same can be said for NYU. I just sent off a Michigan application two weeks ago and I'm still waiting on Chicago, Berkeley, Penn, Columbia, and the H school. Waitlisted by a few schools but I'm only going to stay on Duke's.

You?

I'm in @ Texas, Vandy, & a ton of lesser back up schools, which I've now come to find were pretty much a waste of money. Seeing how these lower ranked schools are trolling me with low scholarship offers and 3 of them didn't even give me a fee waiver, they've done a great job of pissing me off. My money would have been better served blanketing the T14s, even though I have a low chance of getting most of them.

Preferred waitlist @ Georgetown, Regular WL at Northwestern.

Pending at Cornell & Duke (Praying for Duke tbh).

Gonna hang on the waitlists to the end, wait for UT scholarship and match if the offer is lower than Vandy's, and play ball from there. Deposit at the better of UT or Vandy, and retake in June to do more scholly negotiation.

Full scholly @ UChicago.

Actually much more valuable than a ruby.

Thanks for the kind words.

Also, the Ruby comes with a stipend. A fat stipend.

Thanks guys. It feels kind of weird -- this is my first acceptance in the past three cycles. Even if nothing else works out, I'm finally going to law school. :)
