How are people's diversity statements coming along? I feel like I have to do it but I don't want to do it.

Completed mine about a week ago. Had a peer critique both (HLS alum). Insisted on scratching my PS (it was weak, I admit) and expanding my DS into a PS. Turned out great imho.

I will be there. Hotel is already booked, just need my flight itinerary. Should be a great and resourceful experience. Can't wait!

Coming along slowly. I have so much to say. I have a great intro but its to weave it into how I can bring "diversity" into the class given my experiences. Will brainstorm this weekend after my proctored exam tomorrow.

Am I the only applicant that hasn't even written a first draft of my personal statement and diversity statement. I'm taking the oct lsat and worried more about finishing that than the statement. I have my topics in mind for the statements and have already requested my transcripts and LORs.

You're definitely not alone. LSAT is the only thing on my mind. PS and DS writing can come after Oct 5.

I'm with you. I've tossed around a few ideas for my PS and DS, but I'm probably not putting pen to paper until October 6th at the earliest.

After much thought, I am considering sitting for the December LSAT, instead of the October date. I still haven't gotten all my self-study materials and I really want the highest score I can get...or in other words, I'm gonna be pissed if I don't get an 180.
I'm just saying, I know that I can do well if I beast the studying, so I want to give myself enough time to really get it down before I test.

Do you all think that it will be a little late? I intend on having everything else in my file complete before the test (obviously).

I passed on June to take in October so I definitely am of the persuasion that if you can take in October but don't feel comfortable, then wait until December. If not, just try October if you are confident you can get at least a score near the median of the school/s you want to get into.

I am just hoping to not have to deal with LSAT ever again on October 5 around 2:00pm or whenever the test will end on the east coast.

Just found out my UG is a top 5 feeder school for law school...do you guys think applicants who come from top feeder schools are treated differently than applicants who come from lower feeder schools?

Based on everything that I've seen here and on LSN, unless your undergrad is HYPS or a similarly prestigious university it's all about the GPA.

Just checking in. AA Male, 3.74 and 161 hoping for Chicago, Columbia and NYU (among others). Strongly considering a retake in October.

Good luck to everybody!

Forgive me if I didn't spot it, but how heavily is undergraduate g.p.a influenced in the SEO internship process? Would someone with a 3.5 165 be looked upon more favorably rather than someone with a high g.p.a but low 160's? I've read on here that T-6 and a good interview is extremely competitive, if not close to a lock for SEO. In addition, does anybody have any experience or thoughts getting SEO with a school outside T-6 but still in T14?

I say study a little more and re-take in December. If you can raise your LSAT at least 4 points, the world is your oyster my friend.

Considered that also, I just really want to get my applications out early. It's just a matter of weighing the time and money (I have very little of the latter) that goes into retaking, and a later application, but (hopefully) higher score vs. the risk of not getting into a school I really want to go to with my current score.

Based off of LSN and feedback here, I feel as if it's possible sneak into one of those three schools where I'm at now. But, that's not guaranteed. I'm going to officially start studying this weekend and see where I'm at when it comes time to register for a retake.

I burned a chunk of change on not taking the June LSAT I'd signed up for and studying more to get at the October LSAT. It paid off. Had I gotten a June 161 and rolled with it I probably still would have done well - but my October score, in my eyes, sealed the deal on the schools I got in. Good luck to folks on this round. I got a lot of info from here, so PM me if you want my (maybe worthless) advice.

Submitted all my transcripts to LSAC. Final GPA 3.88 a bit higher than my ugGPA. I now know that retaking the LSAT is the right decision (160 in Dec '12) it just sucks having to study for a retake

Tell me about it. A retake is almost always helpful and you always wonder what if if you don't retake.

You should definitely retake. Getting an LSAT score of 165 or higher will be far more advantageous for your application than applying early. It is possible to get into CCN with your current stats, but a 165+ will get you at least one of HYS.

If I had to take a guess I'd say that candidates are viewed in a holistic manner. This thought stems from the wide range of GPAs and LSAT scores that I know about. Once you fulfill the basic requirements it could be just a matter of your leadership and success potential in addition to doing well on the interview, but of course, I have no way of knowing that for sure.

I doubt there is a hard and fast rule about T-6 versus T-14. There were students from T-20 schools in the program this year, and from what I gather, in previous years as well.
