Couldn't help but notice that a non-URM got admitted right before you on LSN with the same-ish LSAT and lower GPA, the only difference was that he/she had applied earlier than you. Are you considering sitting the cycle out and applying early for the next one?logicspeaks wrote:Got waitlisted at Harvard this morning.

I think logicspeaks has a good shot at H if he applies earlier next year. But I don't think that non-URM who was admitted with a 3.26/172 is a good benchmark to use. That GPA is definitely not the norm. In fact, there are people with much better numbers (URM and non-URM) who got WL'd/rejected.Atmosphere wrote:Couldn't help but notice that a non-URM got admitted right before you on LSN with the same-ish LSAT and lower GPA, the only difference was that he/she had applied earlier than you. Applying next cycle is an option but I don't really feel like it would change much. It seems like Harvard is placing more weight on GPA than in the past because a few URM splitters have gotten straight dinged with better grades and LSAT scores than me. Its tempting, but it will really depend at this point.teampeeta wrote:I think logicspeaks has a good shot at H if he applies earlier next year. Congrats on the decisions!
I am pretty set on Stanford at this point, but will probably ride out my waitlist at yale.
I gave up my money at Berkeley and the ruby at Chicago this week so heres hoping it goes on to some other great URMs!

I can't wait until we've all figured out where we're going.

@Brettanomyces:
I'm still deciding. Late applications will do that to you!

Not I said the duck. If Stanford and Chicago would just admit me already, I might be able to make a decision.Brettanomyces wrote:It IS exciting. Congrats again, everyone.logicspeaks wrote:Congrats on all the decisions! I'm so excited for everyone!

Yeah I'm trying to accept my nearly certain WL/ding from S with grace, but yeah I'll probably know within a few days. Late financial aid isn't making my life any easier, and now I won't have any time to negotiate...GREATteampeeta wrote:Not I said the duck. Congrats on deciding! I could tell at ASW that you were set on SLS. I'm glad you made the decision that was right for you.mac2013 wrote:Congrats on the decisions!

On another note, it looks like teampeeta was right in thinking I was HLS or bust, cuz I'll be joining you in Cambridge this fall!! Super excited to be done with the decision process!
Good luck to everyone who's still deciding!

Honestly, I think if you re-apply early next cycle, you will get H easily. The timing of your apps is obviously the reason for the wait-lists and yp's, my good sir.logicspeaks wrote:Applying next cycle is an option but I don't really feel like it would change much. Re: URM 2013-2014 Cycle Thread
Applying early next cycle should definitely improve your outcomes, but it's wrong to say that you should get H easily with a 3.4. On MyLSN, only one URM (172 3.53) out of 13 over the past three cycles got accepted from the 3.3-3.5/170-172 range, which you should keep in mind if you're reapplying just for H and not retaking.
If you really want HLS it's worth another chance though, imo. It's only one more year off but it will stay with you for the rest of your life.

Logic, if you are an AA then that significantly changes your chances. Also, if you lower the LSAT range, you will find that more people with that GPA have been able to land HLS.drawstring wrote:Applying early next cycle should definitely improve your outcomes, but it's wrong to say that you should get H easily with a 3.4. I do think that applying earlier will positively impact your cycle though.
