I was actually wondering how it'll be like living in Lexington of I end up in W&L
It was funny to see that I had a guy 40 miles away on grindr when I visited. In seattle I need to reload to over 200 guys to see someone 3000F away :D

I've heard that Philly in general is especially hott for queer ppl of color. I'd love to go to Penn. I wish they'd love me back.

Penn is my top choice, assuming no HYS love. I'd taken Penn over CCN.

I mean, I'm sure the gay scene at Penn is probably very white and mainstream... But I know of a lot of great QPOC work that happens in Philly. And the Roots and Jill Scott are from Philly! And Baby Mama is set in Philly. All roads lead to...

Really? I'd take CCN over Penn. I have very strong capitalist tendencies, so the prestige factor matters. I don't think I have a strong shot at CCN, though, so I'm realistically aiming for Penn.

I actually read a few papers on Seattle's queer community. Unfortunately, it' doesn't seem too friendly to QPOCs, especially those of Asian descent.

I'm a big Philadelphia fan, and I like that they have a smaller class size. Chicago would make it a tough decision, but Columbia and (especially) NYU don't do much for me, at the end of the day.

I'd take CLS over NYU any day of the week. Maybe as a transfer....

Jay if you end up at W&L will you look to transfer out or could you see yourself in Lexington for the full three years?

I can definitely see myself spending 3 years up there and graduating with a W&L JD. I had a really good connection to the school on ASW and think it's a great fit for me.

I think thranfering when you want biglaw (which I want) is kind of a catch 22. If I end up at the top 10% at W&L I'll be able to get biglaw in NYC and perhaps biglaw in DC. So, transfering would be for prestige alone cause otherwise there's no point in doing it. I think that's the dilemma most people with great 1L grades have (if they want biglaw) you can do it, but you find yourself thinking what's the point. Talked to a few students at W&L when I was there who had the exact dilemma and ended up staying.

EDIT: Also I'll never start LS at a place I wouldn't want to graduate from

Does transferring have any sort of negative impact on employment prospects?

Transfers generally perform above the median at their new school, don't they? If so, I doubt there'd be a stigma.

I can see that. But as I wrote when you're successful at a T25 school you're thinking (I assume) yah I could transfer up and maybe to t14 but I'm already doing great and will most likely get a 160K biglaw (if that's what you're after) so what's the point? Really interested in this dilemma
