URM' s, I seriously need your advice and opinions. I' m scheduled to take my first LSAT in June. I' m reaching for the stars however, I' m a realist. If I score in the 155-165 range what are my chances of admission into a T14 school? I' m also looking for a scholarship? My stats: 37yrs, Seton Hall Masters-3.9, a Detective employed in law enforcement for 15yrs, a unique personal statement, thought provoking references but a low UGPA :/ Help!!!!!!! I' m getting discouraged......

Your best bet are Northwestern and Georgetown but you'll need to score above 165 to have a good shot, more like 170+. Where are you currently scoring on the LSAT?

@Blaqbella-140' s with four months to go. I started a prep course this month and I just got a private tutor. I' m best at LR & RC. LG is a source of contention :/ Once i get that down I believe i can get in the 155-165 range...
I' m wondering if i should include an addendum explaining my low UGPA?

It is actually a really good sign if LG is your worst section. It is the easiest to improve. Just keep drilling former problems and you will see patterns form. I highly recommend the Logic Games bible. You have plenty of time to bring your score up.Deelaw25 wrote:@Blaqbella-140' s with four months to go. Thanks Dmini7 so close but yet so far.... I don't know how much longer I can shift through this site... I'm getting discouraged reading about splitters, minimum GPA's, etc... Honestly, if I can't get into a T14 school, I won't go. Sounds really vain but I'm older with a family. My daughter will be going to college in five years. I need a reputable school that will guarantee me a decent salary especially since I am strongly considering retiring early to pursue law school full time. I graduated from undergrad 8 yrs ago while working full time and being a full time mom. It sucks that so much weight is given to UGPA :/
@Blaqbella, thanks as well... I'm new to this site, still figuring out how to grab those quotes via the iPhone lol... I'm old

If nothing else it would make a very interesting PS. NU will value you for your experience and be willing to overlook the UGPA. You should definitely shoot for a 160+ on the LSAT, to give yourself the best possible chance. I have heard there AJD program is not as competitive, and it may be an option( I haven't really heard how those students job outcomes have been though). Realize that being an URM makes your cycle very unique and unpredictable, so try not to get too discouraged. Just focus on the studying for now. Also it is very good you are not willing to settle on what law school you will attend.Deelaw25 wrote:Thanks Dmini7 so close but yet so far....
