I did the same thing with the tracking and I thought it would calm my neuroses. Of course, it didn't, so I emailed them to let them know my intentions just in case something strange happened with the mail. I know I have issues, so I apologized for my odd behavior up front. I comfort myself by telling myself that it is important that I not screw up claiming my seat at this place.2012applicant2013 wrote:

Congrats on the decisions, guys! I'll probably track my seat deposit letter, too. And email admissions with a scanned copy of the signed letter just to prove that I sent it on time.
Haha. Well played, LSAC... well played.Wormfather wrote:Once admitted, schools can see where else you may have deposited. I think Spivey mentioned it a few months ago. They get some sort of "dual deposit report" and will promptly call you asking WTF?

Waitlisted at Stanford yesterday. Cycle is officially over (I may stay on the waitlist). This is my last post as I will be spending the rest of the summer vegging and soaking up the sun.
Thanks everyone for their support and best of luck. I hope to see many of you in the fall at HLS!!

Currently on reserve at Cornell and trying to gather up some TLS advice on what I should do next and what my chances are. Any advice fellow URM's?

Just got waitlisted at SLS (depositing to Columbia next week). Any past history on how URM's fare on Stanford's waitlist?

How might a URM with low numbers get off any one of five or six T14 waitlists? Prayers and sacrifical lambs?

Loci and pray. They either have us penciled in as backups for URMs that go elsewhere, or they loved us and don't know if there will be space.DaRascal wrote:How might a URM with low numbers get off any one of five or six T14 waitlists? Prayers and sacrifical lambs?

If you're not that into SLS can you withdraw from the WL? (If you'd go to SLS over HLS I wouldn't advise it, but just seeing a lot of people staying on the WL for the hell of it)2012applicant2013 wrote:Waitlisted at Stanford yesterday. I'd say just be patient and make sure you've signaled your interest (LOCI, updates). There are only so many of us and I'd imagine a whole process must ensue for everyone to settle at one school. It all starts at the top with HYS. Once HYS move, then comes CCN, and then on down.DaRascal wrote:How might a URM with low numbers get off any one of five or six T14 waitlists? I'm not sure what type URM you are or what your numbers are, but I see plenty of reason for optimism at this point. Now, in mid-June, not so much.

You really think so? Sent LOCI's to all schools. I'm PR with 3.5/161. I feel like I'm having a bad cycle and that I'm nowhere near getting off any of these waitlists. I was optimistic some months ago but I'm awfully worried now. Staring at BC at sticker unless there's some waitlist movement.dawyzest1 wrote: I'm not sure what type URM you are or what your numbers are, but I see plenty of reason for optimism at this point. I do think something could happen on WLs, but with your best option being BC at sticker, I think you would make a better choice by sitting out, studying for the October LSAT (I'm assuming you've only taken the test once) getting a higher score and see your options improve. 3-4 more points should get you a T14 acceptance somewhere. 5-8 more points and you are talking T14$$ and HCCN potentially.DaRascal wrote:

Re: URM 2012-2013 Cycle... let's go!
Well just got my final college grades back and it looks like my LSDAS will be set in stone as a 3.49 if I reapply in a future cycle. Do you think that hurts me that I dipped under 3.5?
Hopefully I can get in somewhere right now but I think I'm about ready for my June retake.
