Sorry for all of the Yale dings (Worm's is especially surprising) but congrats, LSH91!

Also, sorry to anyone dinged by Yale recently. The Worm decision especially is a shock to me and further proof of how remarkable d330's acceptance was.

I'd also like to share that I had my JS1 today and am not looking forward to the coming days and weeks of wonder and worry about the things I may have screwed up.
I hope my fellow post-JS1 waiters are willing to commiserate

The week after my JS1, I lost count of how many times I replayed and critiqued the interview in my head. Nothing worse than the post-JS1 waiting period.dawyzest1 wrote:I'd also like to share that I had my JS1 today and am not looking forward to the coming days and weeks of wonder and worry about the things I may have screwed up.

I am past the 50 day mark now. It has given me a lot of time to scrutinize every detail of my app and my interview. The wait is maddening.PRgradBYU wrote:The week after my JS1, I lost count of how many times I replayed and critiqued the interview in my head. I'm a little new here...what is a JS1 or JS2? and what does it stand for?

JS1 refers to the Harvard interview while JS2 refers to the acceptance call.NanaP wrote:I'm a little new here...what is a JS1 or JS2? and what does it stand for?

Jessica Soban, who conducts a lot of the interviews. Karen Buttenbaum conducts some as well, and folks here call them KB1'sNanaP wrote:Does it stand for anything?bosmer88 wrote:JS1 refers to the Harvard interview while JS2 refers to the acceptance call.NanaP wrote:I'm a little new here...what is a JS1 or JS2? and what does it stand for?

Part of the ding wave from Yale last night too. Wondering when HLS and Stanford are going to make their final initial decisions?

Thanks you guys. It's good to know I'm not alone. At the very least, this should all be resolved one way or another before the end of the month, no?bosmer88 wrote:I am past the 50 day mark now. I'd put my money on this getting resolved by the end of the week. ASW is coming up I think, one would hope they could hand out most of the remaining JS2's before that (likely this Friday)dawyzest1 wrote:Thanks you guys. It's good to know I'm not alone. Re: URM 2012-2013 Cycle... let's go!
That's really solid reasoning and I am inclined to agree, not just because it would limit my waiting to a pathetic 3 days. ASW I believe would be the weekend of April 19-21.GW1010 wrote:I'd put my money on this getting resolved by the end of the week. I'm currently suffering from post-JS1 anxiety and I got an e-mail from Cornell just now informing me I had been waitlisted. Immediately withdrew that application
It's gotta be yield protecting right? Figured with my numbers and softs I could've gotten in without being a URM. Oh well...the wait for HYCC continues

I didn't think Cornell was known for YP but this certainly has to be what's going on here.GW1010 wrote:I'm currently suffering from post-JS1 anxiety and I got an e-mail from Cornell just now informing me I had been waitlisted. Immediately withdrew that application

Please don't pay this another thought. If you're right by the end of tomorrow you could be juggling an H and S acceptance.

Re: URM 2012-2013 Cycle... let's go!
I used to think pre-js1 anxiety was worse than post-js1 anxiety, but since it's April and I haven't been held or given a js1, I just...don't care anymore. Pretty sure I'll get dinged at this point (maybe wait listed if I'm lucky) and I no longer frantically check my e-mail anymore for news.

Seems to be the beginning of the end, hoping to hear some good news from all of you over the next few days!

That is such blatant YP on Cornell's part. There's no reason you shouldn't get into every school in the T14 with your numbers. I'm calling it: JS2s tomorrow for both of us. Well, at least for you.GW1010 wrote:I'm currently suffering from post-JS1 anxiety and I got an e-mail from Cornell just now informing me I had been waitlisted. Immediately withdrew that application

HLS must be waiting to release decisions for january-complete URM's all at once. PRGrad and Dawyzest, we're in the red zone right now...so close, all this waiting and hard work has come down to the next few days. Sincerely hoping for good news for all of us!PRgradBYU wrote:That is such blatant YP on Cornell's part. There's no reason you shouldn't get into every school in the T14 with your numbers. Let's play figure out what in the world is going on with Cornell.
I just got an email from them trying to get me to apply, 2 mos after deadline and after wait listing my effective twin (incl undergrad) GW. This one doesn't make sense to me.
Any thoughts? Are they fishing for more people to YP?
