Still hoping for one from NYU . I can't believe I've gotten all of those, and yet Arizona State and New Mexico won't give me fee waivers! Grrr.

Haha thanks! But actually, I received all of those fee waivers BEFORE my October 173 score. I got a 164 in June and received all the fee waivers over the summer. So my disbelief is justified2013hopeful:D wrote:

TBH, Im not sure. But if anything, it would mean something more positive than negativeTrips_93 wrote:What does the unsolicited waiver actually mean? I mean, does it mean they want you to attend? Or they just want people to ding?chiach1 wrote:Unsolicited fee waivers from uva, duke and nyu.
I know more of us out here have plenty of good news, lets share.
I've gotten unsolicited waivers from uva, duke and penn and my numbers are 3.58/158. Wouldn't it be pointless to ding me since I'm really not a spectacular candidate numbers wise to being with? Or is that just wishful thinking?

agreed. no one really can be sure. but, you have to take into account that as a urm your scores might be more competitive than what they seem.chiach1 wrote:TBH, Im not sure. Based on the number of pages and posts in this thread, it does look like it is going to be a down cycle in terms of apps for URM's. Is that how you all feel?

It could be. Maybe everyone is silent because they're retaking in December so apps haven't really gone out yet?

End of fall semester is kicking my butt but I'm less than a month away from getting those fall grades and transcripts in. LORs finally all in, working on supplemental essays. hard to believe that I'll have all my apps in this time next month.

JS1 is almost certain to be merely a formality for you with those numbers nevertheless, good luck!kcam1991 wrote:Got an invite today AA urmweareyoung16 wrote:So, has anyone on here had a JS1 invite yet?

Does anyone write back to unsolicited fee waiver emails if its a school they're interested in? I'm assuming no, but I've received some from schools I'm interested in applying and got paranoid.

The interview with the Harvard law school dean Jessica Soban. It is necessary but not sufficient to be admitted. The JS2 is the acceptance phone call.angflos wrote:What's JS1?

Am I the only one that's worried about taking the LSAT in December and applying so late? I feel like by screwing up the October test I've screwed myself if I get anything less than a 170 (which most likely won't happen). I'm scared all the classes will be close to full and by January everyone will be extra picky.

I think your only focus right now should be on scoring your optimal best on the December LSAT. Worrying yourself with concerns after-the-fact diverts attention from an exam that can make or break you.Psib337 wrote:Am I the only one that's worried about taking the LSAT in December and applying so late? As for your latter sentence, it depends. It depends on where you want to go. It depends on # of applicants applying. It depends on your holistic application. It depends on your LSAT score in December and what the school is looking for.
The cycle for URMs can be so unpredictable, so nothing is truly ever definitive. Just focus all your energy (not to be confused with worry) on the LSAT and doing your best.

Yo we need to have a kumbaya/come to Jesus moment cause I'm stressing over the same #$%@ thing! But think about it like this...what if we do score 170+ or even high 160's.....that would definitely cancel being late in the cycle...methinks
In good news I got a Cornell fee waiver...

Re: URM 2012-2013 Cycle... let's go!
I saw in a Blueprint video not too long ago that roughly half the applicants that apply to law school apply after December scores are released. I think the risk of having a better score severely outweighs the downside to applying in January.
