What would my chances look like with a 3.3 GPA and a 170 or better LSAT as a Mexican American 1st generation college student?

Actively involved in student government on campus
In an international fraternity (TKE)
I will be a Resident Advisor this year for student housing
Involved in Pre-Law club.
Double Major: Psychology and Religion.

I plan on taking the LSAT in October and I will start studying religiously in April (I want

My top school choices are mostly California schools (UCLA,USC) but I plan on applying to all T-14 and maybe 5-10 outside of T-14.

I'm from Los Angeles,CA so I don't know what kind of roll that would play...

Does anyone know how much a personal statement factors in to your application? I haven't really received a clear-cut answer...

Thanks for the help! :)

You'll do pretty well if you score over a 170.

Have you taken a practice test yet?

They are holding a practice test on campus for free in a couple weeks, so I will probably use that to gauge how much I have to improve.

You think even with a GPA around 3.3 I can get into a T-14?

Also, don't post the same question twice. And don't post in "What Are My Chances" until you have taken the actual LSAT.

Yeah me too.

Sorry about the double post. After creating this thread, I didn't know if I posted it in the right place or not.

Depends on your LSAT, even once you break 170. The only school you'll be precluded from with that GPA will be Yale, although Stanford isn't that likely. But there's a big difference between, say, 177+ and a flat 170.

That being said you should still do everything in your power to raise your GPA as much as possible between now and your application, and realize you might need to sit out a year if necessary.

What LSAT score, with my GPA and extra-curricular's would I need to get to get into UCLA or USC?

Those are my top 2 choices, and I'm going to study hard for the highest score, but anyone know around what score I would need?

No

Especially since your Psych GPA sucks.

Also, everyone else has an upward trend too.
