Free supplements that you'll spend $400 plus ANYWAY for all your first year coursesvincanity1 wrote:Just curious because of all this SEO stuff, what's so attractive about it? I went to an info session when I was a Fresh in college, but I forgot most of it. Also, I'm quite lazy and the idea of a non-essential program forces me into a fetal position
You get a very generous stipend from your firm.
Meet all the recruiters, partners, and (from junior to senior) associates from the top 30 law firms that make the hiring decisions.
*HUGE* plus for 1L SA because first off you have a top30 law firm on your resume and depending on your firm you get substantive work you can talk about in interviews.
You get exposure to what transactional work and litigation REALLY means, as well as insights into how restructuring of debt, securities and antitrust litigation, and private equity/funds work at a law firm--things people won't TRULY get a practical sense of until they actually work at a firm (which will be during the 2L summer for 95% of law school students)
Meet a strong group of friends that you can always connect with and some contacts when you arrive at your law firm
Get inducted into the SEO alumni framework (meet tons of cool 2Ls/3Ls/associates/partners that did SEO that will mentor your and give you advice).
+a billion more reasons that I can't think of right now.
