Free supplements that you'll spend $400 plus ANYWAY for all your first year courses

You get a very generous stipend from your firm.

Meet all the recruiters, partners, and (from junior to senior) associates from the top 30 law firms that make the hiring decisions.

*HUGE* plus for 1L SA because first off you have a top30 law firm on your resume and depending on your firm you get substantive work you can talk about in interviews.

You get exposure to what transactional work and litigation REALLY means, as well as insights into how restructuring of debt, securities and antitrust litigation, and private equity/funds work at a law firm--things people won't TRULY get a practical sense of until they actually work at a firm (which will be during the 2L summer for 95% of law school students)

Meet a strong group of friends that you can always connect with and some contacts when you arrive at your law firm

Get inducted into the SEO alumni framework (meet tons of cool 2Ls/3Ls/associates/partners that did SEO that will mentor your and give you advice).

+a billion more reasons that I can't think of right now.

Hi Everyone! Thought I'd pass along the good news to fellow URMs.(I'm on TLS, just want to maintain anonymity)

Applied and was accepted into Stanford! LSAT is sub-median/high gpa/MA.

Good luck to everyone!

Thanks for the congrats!! How did you decide on UVA? Is there anything you know now that you wish you took into account? I am worried about the feasibility of going to all the ASWs and am wondering what factors other people take into account when selecting their school.

Be on the look out for a more detailed PM answering this question in the next few days. We are just wrapping up exams and I can barley think about anything other than crim or contracts until after Wednesday. But basically, go to as many ASW's as you can. Consider money, ranking, but NEVER underestimate your gut feeling that you get about a place. Btw, enjoy the process! ASW's are a great time to network, dress up (kinda) and get drunk at social events. If you get too messed up, it's not like you HAVE to see these people ever again. (being facetious...err...kinda).

I know what a KB1 is, but what is the significance? I tried to find the answer on the HLS thread, but I'm afraid I'm going to be fired soon if I spend another 5 min on TLS

You need a KB1 in order to be admitted. About 800/1200 people who receive a KB1 get a KB2 so it's usually a good sign.

Harvard applicants:

Went through all the LSN data for URMs with LSATs of 166+. I'm a splitter (3.5x, 17x) so it was helpful for me to see what my chances looked like. For those of you with 166+ LSAT scores, you might want to take a look. Sample size = 187.

^Good work MickeyD.

Can you link me to the 3.4/178 who got rejected? I've been able to find the profiles of all the other outliers but I can't seem to find that one.

Don't really understand how a 3.4 178 got rejected but someone with the same GPA but a much lower LSAT score got admitted.
