HYS chances

What are my chances of attending HYS?

3.25 gpa University of Michigan Political Science focus on China. Community college transfer where I graduated with high honors.

Softs: Worked full-time throughout college, Ordained minister for twelve years, community leader, born and raised in Benton Harbor Michigan when it was murder capital of the year! first to graduate from college, fluent in Mandarin Chinese, married for 16 years with four children.

Stanford and University of Michigan are dream schools! Harvard, Yale and Columbia are as well.

Any thoughts? All advice is welcomed!

LSAT is irrelevant. You're not getting hys with a 3.25 gpa.

I would say it is very unlikely, but with a 170+ LSAT and URM status I think it is worth the app fee.

Does OP have URM status, or did I miss that?

While OP wasn't explicit, this was posted in the URM forum...

Honestly, every semester was a 3.5 and above. One bad semester destroyed my gpa. Otherwise, I would have easily graduated with a 3.5 or better.

Irrelevant. You have a shot at HYS but it is small.

I think I assumed OP was a URM to even ask with that GPA. lol

I know someone who's now at HLS with similar numbers. Definitely worth applying.

I think it depends what URM you are....from your OP, I assume you're Asian, which isn't URM?

But if Hispanic or AA, I think you'd have a good shot at Harvard, although Yale or Stanford would be significantly more difficult.

Edit to say that the fluent in Mandarin Chinese was why I assumed you were Asian. My mistake :D

You have 3.4 in your profile? If that's your LSAC GPA combined with everything mentioned above I definitely wouldn't rule anything out

Then you'll have a much stronger shot at H than with a 3.25. Worth the app fee to all 3 in spite of the fact that it is no sure thing.

Stanford is my first choice. I heard that they will start considering LSAT more than in the past. My main concern is that I am 35. It is sort of a now or never thing. All I can do is put my best foot forward and pray for the best.

African American, 176, 3.39, and people are saying little chance???

I will bet the farm you get AT LEAST one of HYS.

If you're an AA male, that makes it even more likely.
