Puerto Rican 3.35, 162

I'm 32 and worked full-time throughout school. Actually, had one pretty bad year (due to personal problems) that dragged down my gpa, otherwise it's pretty solid.

My story is relatively engaging: first time college grad; checkered family history, to say the least; published poetry and lit. crit.

What are my chances at a T14? Do I have a chance at CCN with an ED?

Thanks for the feedback.

You have an outside chance, but I wouldn't bank on anything. Don't ED though, apply to lower ranked schools and see if you can get $$, keep your options open.

Why are you shooting so high? Both you numbers are below all of the t14's 25%s. The other stuff doesn't matter and doesn't distinguish you.

I would still blanket the t14 but I say your chances are pretty slim. Make sure to give yourself some Safe and target schools. "CCN"- Cornell is probably your best bet.

Can you retake the lsat? If no, why not? :)

I guess I'm wondering whether the non-number info bridges some of the gap. I'm also thinking of GW and Fordham, but clearly the T14 is what I'm hoping for.

Your published material doesn't give you that big of a bump, atleast not enough to get into CCN. GW, Fordham are much better targets. Also, try to get fee waivers for T14 schools, that way you don't waste $80 on a mega reach like Columbia.

Your URM status due to being Puerto Rican is the only thing that you listed which would provide a noticeable bump. But that bump would be nowhere near the +10 LSAT points and +.5 GPA that you would need to have a solid shot at CCN or even MVPB probably. You can send the apps in to the T14 if you like, but it would probably be better to save the money for places like Fordham and GW (where your chances are still slim).
