Thanks!!! I don't want to be super impulsive and commit without doing a couple campus visits, but it's nice to feel fairly certain at this point.

update on my cycle so far:

in at NYU!
out at UVA (OOS, RD)
interview with GULC alumni today - hope it goes well
nothing back from anywhere else, I blanketed the t-20

congrats to all, looking at the results so far some of you guys are crushing it!

Seeing as how you were accepted by NYU, I would think you're going to crush your cycle as well, grayman. Good Luck!!

For me, in at GWU as of this morning. So far I have Illinois, OSU, and GWU. I still have about 17 or more schools to hear from so we'll see what happens.

Need some advice. Just got held at Harvard which I'm a bit bummed about. I already updated my transcripts with a 4.0 last semester; not sure what else I should add to my file. Am I done for? Should I cash in on some LORs professors have offered to write? Should I just wait for the axe to swing? Any advice, however brutal, would be appreciated.

Wow, so few early URM acceptances at Harvard.

I would suggest a LOCI. Anything other than that would seem a little much, in my opinion. Plus, you want to make sure you have some more options if you get waitlisted (doubtful).

Thanks for the response. So you wouldn't suggest another LOR? I am toying with the idea of a Feb LSAT, but I'm not sure.

Your LSAT is already on the URM high-side. If you're certain you can hit 170, then there's no harm in going for it (especially for scholly purposes), but I don't think you have to. An extra LOR won't hurt, but like I said, you won't have much to strengthen your application later if you send off both an LOR and LOCI this early. Good luck, whatever you decide though! I have a very good feeling you'll be admitted in the Spring.

At this point, your application has been thoroughly reviewed. We’ve got a crack team here, and at least two of us have read your application. So we have a pretty good sense of who you are at this point. You’re more than welcome to send additional information – updated transcripts and resumes are particularly helpful. But don’t feel the need to send something just to send it. Remember, what you send reflects on your judgment – is that seventh letter of recommendation from your grandmother’s next door neighbor who always thought you should be a lawyer really going to reflect well on you?

In the last couple of weeks, I’ve started to go back through the holds. Some of you, we’ve already admitted; others have been asked to interview. Don’t freak out if that’s not you. This is a fairly long process, and it will take 6-8 weeks to go through all the applications, at which point some of the remaining holds be shifted to a wait-list.

If you have new information that we should have to evaluate your candidacy, definitely send it in. Updated transcripts should be sent to LSAC, but feel free to send us other updates such as honors or awards you’ve recently won, a new job, or anything else that you think could materially impact our evaluation of you. (Keep in mind that we do not open email attachments, so most updates should be sent to our office via postal mail.) Otherwise, sit tight and try not to stress too much. We’ll try and get you a decision as soon as we can.

Thanks for the links. I had read the first post of his, but not the other. I was afraid of being rejected before I can change any minds, but I think I might take your advice and wait a little while before sending in any additional info.

I sent in my (fee waived) app this morning then got an email about 30 minutes ago about priority track.

Is it too late to get into this?

Have faith. Your numbers are strong for an AA applicant so cast all fears aside. You had also just sent in an updated transcript with a 4.0 GPA. Don't bombard them with any additional updates just yet.

I was held today at Harvard as well. I don't know what else I should do. Should I update my grades? Get another recommendation? Damn. Are any of you doing anything? And how do you send it to them (besides an updated transcript...which I haven't done).
