NICE very creditable opinion. Dr.John Borrows is one of the worlds premier Aboriginal legal scholars. I hope you get a T-14 however it worth keeping in mind if you plan on working in the Aboriginal rights field.
did you get $?

Talk about up and down.

Congrats! I'm sure that helps ease the bad news.

@helloscriptkitti: You are on my watch list on LSN. Hope that doesn't creep you out. :D

Not at all law_monkey. You're on my list also. Along with many others in this thread that I have been silently rooting for.

Won't find out until I get my admit packet. But I'll definitely post it on my profile here and LSN when I find out.

WL at Georgetown :(

My cycle is just getting progressively worse. After I did my first round of apps I found TLS, and everyone seemed to think I had been underestimating myself, but I just keep getting disappointed. So I'm really starting to think I was actually shooting too high.

I just have to keep reminding myself that for a few weeks there I didn't know if I'd even be GOING to law school. At first I was worried about not getting in anywhere.

161, 2.56 Apparently AA male with >75th LSAT doesn't make up for that GPA.

Where else did you apply?

Also, reasons for the low GPA?

I have very similar stats, slightly higher LSAT, lower GPA. Are you a recent undergrad? I'm hoping to mitigate my craptastic GPA through the fact that I'm 30 years old, and recently returned to school to finish my B.A (got a 4.0 in resumed work).

So far I've only heard back from Hofstra, but I'm in.

SMU, Baylor, UH, Texas Tech, South Texas, Texas Wesleyan, Minnesota, Wash U St. Louis, Northwestern, Oklahoma, Michigan State and Virginia. UVA is the other school that's dinged me. Most of my apps that are out of Texas are just throw an app and pray types.

Undiagnosed ADD led to a sub 1.0 GPA in my first semester at Texas A&M after community college, got on Adderall and have a 3.5 since then.

Edit-I was in the Marine Corps before college, graduating this year.

General but very important question.

Did you take a lot of time to refine your PS, DS and addenda? With a low GPA, the packaging of everything else becomes far more important.

Yeah, at least I thought I did, my wife's a teacher and I had her and a couple of her fellow teachers read over all that before I submitted my apps.

No TK. I am pretty certain that any scholly info will be provided in the coming days/weeks after receiving an acceptance. Given that you want to end up in NYC, I am sure you would prefer an Hamilton over Harvard or a Stanford acceptance. Hold tight, hopefully you will get one.
