Focusing too much on music?

Hi,
I am a longtime lurker but first time poster. Anyway, I'm starting the brainstorming process for my PS and DS and I was wondering if it would be "too much" to write my essays on my experiences in the performing arts. I am thinking about writing my PS about being a semi-professional clarinet player while I am thinking about writing my DS on my struggles as an AA male in the performing arts (dealing with racism, and how i overcame those setbacks). I'm just wondering if my two essays are too closely related? Thanks for your help!

Not at all man, if it's something you truly believe speaks about your character and person, it will be the right topic for you. Seems like a very interesting topic, that if you know how to set up, will probably set you apart from other candidates.
