I got a 159 today. This is my high-end PT. I score between 155-157 usually. I am trying to get a 160+ on test day. Reading comp is killing me lately. Timing is lowering my score drastically, but not nearly as bad as it is on Reading Comp. I can't get through all 4 passages. I can only get through 3. I have gotten worse at Reading Comp. -11 is just unacceptable. If I could just cut that down to a -6 or so I would be in business.

I am having trouble with reading comp. as well. I think I am going to devote some time and just increasing my reading speed with accuracy. I cant get through all 4 passages but depending on the day I can get a -5 to a -13. Not consistent at all......

How are your games improving?

I get around a -4 to -6 if I do not get to the last game. If I finish all 4, I get -0 to -3. If I can speed up LR and RC, I will be in the 160s arghh.

For RC, i find it useful to do very little marking when the topic is familiar to me and it's not very complex. When i get to the questions, i skipped any question that holds me past 1mn(this hard to do and today i fail to follow this advice) and move on to the next questions going as fast as i can.

Took PT45 today, i earned my highest score thus far thanks to an unusual -1 LG. I will try to see if i can stay make 165 my baseline from now.

Took PT48 today, this one has one of the harshest curve I have seen so far. Improvements seem to be coming from my constant drilling of LG.

It seems this week I am stuck at 164. My last 4 PT results have been 163,164,164,164. I'm looking for another breakthrough by improving my LR. Any advice??

I can't get above 160 anymore. :( I am staying in the 157-161 range. I got a 159 on PT 55 today.

LR1: -7
RC: -8
LR2: -3
LG: -6

I really had a rough go with LG as I spent 10 minutes on the 1st game. I essentially only answered 2.5 games. I don't know why, but I keep noticing a trend that my second LR section is always really good compared to the first. There must be something in that first LR that makes me perform poorly. RC, I am still struggling to finish on time. I barely made it today. I think I should do a little more RC practice. I just want a 160 on test day. :(

Don't get discouraged, it's normal for your PT score to fluctuate. I would say do a little more practice in RC. If Science passage are your weak point, I would say focus on that.

I took PT50 today and scored a 167. I scored my first -0LG and im very happy. I got tired in the last section and made a lot stupid mistakes costing me my first -170. O well, I still have a few more PT left

Edit: I meet riddle basin RC passage today in PT50 and i missed 2 questions from it. I don't think it was too difficult but very unfamiliar to me. Hence , it slows me down quite a bit leading me to guess on a few questions

I'm stuck in mid-165. Whenever I improve in one section, I regress in the other. yesterday, I got a 168 but I went -7RC which use to be one of my best section. And LG, WOw!!! :D

I have a question for you might help me improve my score before test day....

How did you improve in LG? Did you just practice set after set until you got them? Because I used to be getting -13 or -12 on LG now I am at -3. I don't know if its because I am improving or because I am seeing some of the same games in the Prep tests I am taking....are you having any similar problems? Any thoughts would be great :)

Glad LG is finally coming around :D

I'm stuck with the RC as well  Dont know what to do. -7 sounds about right for me as well.

I am so excited :D :D . I get my first 170 today in PT44. However, I need to keep working harder and keep things in perspective. To use a football analogy, while it is nice to win pre-season games, it means nothing in the grand scheme of things if in the regular season you fail to win when the games matter. In other words, I would prefer to be more like the Colts than the Lions.

Yes, I follow Pythypike's studyguide for LG. For the PTs i am taking, usually all the games are brand new unless they were used in the Powerscore LG Bible. What I did was to use one of the 10 Actual LSAT to practice and repeat the games. All the rest of the logic games were unused and I do them only after I have taken them as a PT.

Nonetheless, I would say the most important thing is to keep repeating the games. If you are improving you will know as you will be more confident in your answers and faster.

Thank you!!! I know how people who score in the 170s feel now. Even though my score is only theoretical, I feel like I accomplished something. Need to keep working harder and not to take anyting for granted.

RC is hit or miss for me too as you can see from my PTs. What I tried to do starting today is to do less underlying since time is a major issue for me when I get to the last passage.

Unsolicited advice: I think Powerscore's advice, in LR, to read the stimulus first then the question might not be for everyone. Since I start experimenting with reading the question first, then the stimulus i am more confident with my answers and faster.

Thanks AJtdq!! one thing I can definitely say, It's not easy to get a 170. Duh. Yesterday, my score went back down, I scored a 167. I missed one of the rules in the first game and end up missing 3 questions in what what supposed to be the easiest game to cost me a 170. I end up with a -4in LG. So, the lesson is any mistake can be costly in the quest for 170
