When you pull shit like that, especially repeatedly, there are more deep seated issues than just being a poor sport. She shouldn't be allowed to play competitively ever again.

The ref should have issued two yellows after the first two aggresive tackles. If you let players get away with shit like that, they WILL take advantage of it. Which is what happened here. The punishment should be suspension for 3 months or so. Taking her off the team sounds a bit extreme, but she needs to be made an example of. I assume, the ref crew should be reprimended as well. They have no excuse for not stopping it sooner.

My guess is that stuff like this happens more often than we think, but this was probably a little more often in one game, aggressive than usual, and probably a little more outrageous than usual. Take all those factors into account, and it becomes a huge incident. I think banning her would be a bit extreme, but a long suspension would be in order (like the equivalent of a whole season).

Referees' fault that she was still on the field for most of that.

Do you realize how absurd it is to say that? Men in professional soccer do equivalent crap all the time and no one accuses them of having "deep seated issues" or recommends they never play again.

She should be suspended however long it takes for her to shape up. Maybe the rest of this season. The referees should probably be suspended for missing all of that, too.

No need to explain. This country loves hardcore sports like Baseball.

I see nothing wrong. Don't punish her because BYU didn't have an enforcer capable enough to make her stop.

And yeah, I bet she's a tiger in the sack.

This is somewhat TCR. You never saw someone kicking lumps out of anyone on Vinnie Jones's or Roy Keane's teams.

That ponytail takedown looked like something out of a special ops video.

+1

She was totally inappropriate... but I've experienced my fair share of hair pulling in soccer (even just at the high school level)

The university should do nothing. I'll punish her. She's been bad.

The hair pull and the punch in the back you can understand the ref not seeing, but most of those things were on the ball!

I've done quite a bit of soccer reffing and in my book she racked up about 6 yellow cards.

But as a ref (I've reffed hockey for many years) you start to notice players that are acting aggressively, plus they don't tend to be quiet as they're doing their garbage. That ref had absolutely no sense for what was happening out there.
