So..one of my biggest pet peeves is when people pray for stupid things.

Today I was talking with someone and their dog was there..I was asking questions about it and she said, "Yeah, it used to bark all through the night but we prayed about it for a long time and now she's better."

So..let me get this straight.

GOD cares about your dog barking. The dog stopped barking in the night NOT because it became trained/is no longer a puppy. But because God made your dog stop.

But we won't talk about all the natural disasters that have killed thousands upon thousands in the last month.

WTF.

Now you share your rant of the day!

As long as they aren't praying for shitty things to happen to other people, I would just leave 'em alone. Live and let live, y'know? Christians aren't the only ones that are too preachy...

I pray for the death and destruction of 3rd world countries by way of natural disaster. The badass part about my prayers is that they come true :)

One of my biggest pet peeves is people that think praying will keep natural disasters from happening or will somehow lessen their effects.

Truthfully, my biggest pet peeve are "pet peeves" in general. It's has become such a part of our vernacular that we don't think about what the two words mean. "Pet peeve" means that you get super irritated by something that isn't a big deal. If it's not a big deal let it go. I'll echo UD in saying that Christians and other religious types certainly don't have a monopoly on being preachy.

When people drive with their convertible tops down but have the windows rolled up.

It looks idiotic.

Creepiest is when it's a male hassling a male.

My biggest pet peeve is when people think God is this benevolent supernatural being. I mean, c'mon. The guy tried to WIPE OUT humanity. And not only that, but he's relegated the majority of humans to live in some sort of hell where they have almost no chance of escaping.

when my brother was killed a few years back in a skiing accident.... a lot of my friends reacted "oh i'm sorry, he'll been in our prayers" (or maybe it was "you will be in our prayers"). For some reason -- perhaps angry at God -- this bugged the hell out of me. That didn't lessen my sorrow. Big whoop your going to pray. What good does that do me! I'm the one thats alive right now and I needed to talk to people about shit. But that would take too much time.

That's my rant.

has a girl who has been engaged stopped you from pursuing her before? if so you need to look at yourself in the mirror and slap yourself across the face.

Most people aren't smart enough to come up with something genuine, sorta like when you asked someone "How are you doing?"

Cause in most cases, no one cares how you feel.

Id still rather someone pray about something, than do nothing. Positive energy beats negative energy any day.

"i'm going to pray for you" sounds so insincere most of the time..blech.

why not something a little more heartfelt, please. even "I wish I could help" or "I know this is painful" or "Let me know if I can do anything for you" is way better than "I'm gonna pray for you."
