SF would be great if they'd institute some sorta homeless people incineration program.
NYC is great for rich people, otherwise it's great, but a colossal hassle.
That leaves Denver FTW.
When did SF become some homeless ridden?
1969, if I'm not mistaken.

No wonder I never really went up into the city when I lived up there - I lived out in Redwood Shores. Come to think of it, I went into the city 1 time I think to see a show, and was so hassled by an agressive/filthy homeless person that we left instead of seeing the show if I recall.

I would take LA over SD any day. Yes, SD has cleaner air, etc., but it is tooooo quiet for me. If you are not military, and don't like to sleep early, wrong city. LA has its share a people to resent, be attracted to, pal around with, do active things or just be a loser... and honestly, today was sunny (and I mean LA sunny, not 1 cloud) and about 80-85, no humidity to speak of.
this is fair. SD is not really a night life city. SD is cleaner, less crowded, less shallow, and more friendly. plus, i like the quietness.

I picked SD because there was no option for LA. WTF?

LA is the greatest city in the world.

San Diego, CA is so expensive. Very beautiful, but expensive. I'm paying 1,039 for a studio! I don't know if the quality of life is justification for these inflated cost of living metrics.

Well, I think we can agree LA should be an option up there, certainly if SF and SD are. There is something foul afoot...

LA is a wretched pit. SD is nice, but a little to strip mall-ey and suburban feeling.

LA is scary big. I mean it's big. I think San Diego, CA is big too.

You're so right, renzo.

Is it a high rise studio? Cuz then I'd consider that about average.

I'll take middle class in SF over millionaire in Mississppi.

EDIT: However, I do agree on the Milwaukee/SF choice.
Maybe I'm biased because I'm from the South but I'd take millionaire in MS over middle class in SF anyday. Hell rondemarino, you'd only be a plane ride away from being a millionarie in SF anytime you'd like :)

How the hell is nobody talking about Charlottesville in this thread? Or is it one of those things where you exclude the obviously best city? "City with best QOL other than Charlottesville", in the same way you might ask who the "best boxer other than Mohammed Ali" is. :D

I voted for Austin as the best city other than Charlottesville in QOL, myself.

If I were strongly considering a school in the 15-30 range UT would be at the top of my list.

Oh, and +1 to Philly. The city is sort of expensive, and not all that great. Doesn't make for great QOL... there's a reason why most of the nice Philly suburbs are actually in South Jersey.
Austin, woohoo, yeah, Austin. yes. TITCR

Oh, +1 rondemarino re: your first post.
