Not that many people on here are interested in U. Maryland (although there are a few)...

U. Maryland just built an amazing student center for their grad schools in baltimore (law included)...

I'm trying to find a link, but it looks incredible. Over 3 floors makeup the gym, pool, track, etc. of the facility. I think it is set to open this fall...

When i move there i will post some real pictures... but for now: [url]http://campuscenter.umaryland.edu/photos.htm/[url]

I didn't get to see it when I visited, but I hear that Michigan has a pretty nice gym waiting for me this fall. I did wander over to the ridiculous new b-school building and scoped out their Equinox Fitness Center... Wow.

EDIT: Also heard that Columbia's sucks. Has anyone seen it?

My number one concern is that the gym has a squash court.

Penn gets you access to Pottruck, the university gym.

Plain awesome.
1st floor: full dedication to elliptical cycles, treadmills, and rowing machines (ironically has floor-ceiling windows that stare out at the food trucks!)
2nd floor: grunt and scream with the meatheads; indoor basketball court; separate stretching mat area with more weights and punching bags
3rd floor: mixed dance/yoga/spinning studios and treadmills and weights
4th floor: same as 3rd
Pool at bottom

This is an excellent thread. I never even considered how important this will be to me. To be honest, I am more concerned with being able to use equipment without a long wait rather than how nice it is. When I worked at UF I didn't want to bother with the busy student rec centers (or the crazy membership fee they charged staff members) so I just used the 2 small workout rooms in the basketball arena and it was great. They were never really busy and I got to workout with the actual athletes fairly often.

Is Gainesville Health and Fitness still amazing, or has it gone downhill?

Boston U.'s center looks the best. Are non-students allowed to use the facilities?

Michigan's gyms blow. CCRB is supposed to be getting a huge revamp I think.

If I remember correctly, it's a walkway that runs over the street.

Can I bump this? I am really interested! I go to the gym all week so it is pretty important to me.

UC Irvine has a really nice gym.

Kobe Bryant is often spotted working out there.

I didn't want to repost so I dug out this read. Doesn't have to be the 'best'. I guess I was looking for which schools have: good, bad, none.

The John Wooden Center at UCLA is pretty cool. Only drawback is how crowded it can get at certain times.

Is Illinois better than anywhere else in the Big Ten?
Better than Ohio State?

TITCR. Rock climbing wall (with free climbing shoe/equipment rental) FTW.
