Haha how "knowledgeable" does one need to be to go to weather.com and type in "Madison, WI"?? It's too tall a task for you, apparently. And keep up the trolling!! I think it's working!! Everyone totally hates fun college towns already.

The Great Taste is, to our knowledge, the second longest-running craft beer festival in North America. This year, we expect 105+ breweries/brewpubs to be serving about 500 different beers right here in Madison, Wisconsin (Beer Capital of the Midwest!) in a beautiful lakeside setting with a view of the state capitol, with great food for sale, space to spread out on the grass in sun or shade to enjoy the beers and music, and with a celebrity brewer dunk tank for charity. Each brewery brings atleast 3 different beers if not up to 7. You get a nice 8 ounce tasting glass and just go around to drink all day!

Apparently tickets are sold out?? http://www.mhtg.org

fail. and madison (socially, aesthetically, beer-wise) is way overrated. milwaukee takes all the best parts of madison and eliminates the unwarranted pretension. on the plus side, the law school will give you plenty of opportunities to work in that great city.

Umm...Great Taste of the Midwest? The oldest and best beer festival in the US? You've obviously never been...100 breweries, 500 beers, and it sells out within hours.

Fail.

yikes. for a guy going to his first choice law school, we're a bit touchy, no? and i'd say that my expressing an admittedly subjective opinion is less of a fail than someone who has had a bit too much kool-aid claiming that madison is the third best law school in the big ten.

1. I never said UW is the 3rd best school in the midwest...I'd say it varies between 4/5/6, depending on what you want to do.

2. Trust me, you can get tickets to the festival...just look for scalpers. Granted, some of us will be in there an hour before it starts

i'm not sure you're reading these things. i know you didn't say it, what with the whole "me quoting someone else" thing...nevermind. i like madison, i like milwaukee better. law school at madison will be fun. if their career prospects and cost were equal, i would prefer to go to marquette. they are not. i'm not going to either, and i don't really care anyway.

The only thing I responded to was you calling Madison overrated 'beer-wise.' Trust me, hosting the Great Taste of the Midwest beer festival pretty much negates that accusation.

Having been an undergrad there and knowing law students/grad students and such, I have the perfect UW-Madison analogy.

UW-Madison is like the Acura of schools, people who own them swear its a Lexus but everyone else knows its a Honda.

wisconsin is THE shit. the home of the smart, well-rounded kid who doesn't want to wear button downs to class every day. work hard play hard. down to earth, good people. best four years of my life, law school there is no different.

There is a lot of live music, theatre, film festival in the summer. It's also close enough to go to Chicago on the weekends, or up north to go hiking or camping.

Cost of living is pretty good. I only payed 280 my senior year, and shared with 3 girls only about 5 blocks from the school. You can live downtown for under 600. You don't need a car, you get a bus pass, and everything downtown is walking distance.

The campus is gorgeous especially in the spring. The winters are harsh, but I think can be really fun.

There are homeless people, like in any city, especially in the downtown area. Politics in Madison are really interesting. Obviously mostly liberal, but a large socialist population keeps things even more interesting, and the conservative sect is loud and proud.

There are a number or great free events through the year, including speakers, concerts, symposiums etc.

I miss Madison greatly. :(

NOT ONLY are there homeless people, but we love them. My favorite part of every fall is seeing freshmen gawk at Piccolo man in library mall or watching scanner dan terrorize new victims at einstein's bagels.

and don't forget.....

and for the idiot who says 70's for all week...I will counter your dumb ass with 3 out of the next four days WITHOUT 70 degree temps (you do know that the temps expectant gets changed a couple of times a day).........but we can't expect a pre-law student to be knowledgeable about anything not related to those history classes you took for your history major.

Don't forget that a JD from Wisconsin is not portable. You will be trapped in Wisconsin unless at the very top of the class.

It's very regional, and UW does very well within the Midwest. Look, we get it--Wisconsin rejected you, now stop trolling.

Oh, and considering that over half the class left Wisconsin to practice law in, it pretty much shatters your BS statement.

chicago/minneapolis would fit the criteria I think.

Oh and according to usnews, approximately 18% of the class go to DC/NYC/CA

The majority of UW graduates leave Wisconsin even with the low cost of living, no bar exam, dominance in the state market, and random 'Sconnies that never want to leave the Badger state.

I also have a very topical analogy for you as that you clearly went to UW and show disdain for the institution.

UW-specific:

1. You're like a girl in Tri-Delt who wears her letters to class but swears off the Greek System.

2. You're like a kid who lived in Statesider and grew up in NJ but "can't stand" Langdon Street.

3. You're like a Sconnie girl who thinks people from Milwaukee are hicks, only attending Johnny O's on a Thursday night.

I disagree in principle (the truth never gets old), but even if I didn't...I think "pretty lame" would be creating an alt, then quoting and agreeing with his own post.

However it's not necessarily true, and he looks like a fool in pulling out the same old one-trick rabbit from his hat. My guess is that it makes him feel better thinking he got in while somebody else who bashes his precious school was dinged, which is mildly amusing. First off it makes for an interesting insight into his psyche. Secondly, his acceptance of tenuous assumptions without any substantial evidence other than his own preconceptions makes me chuckle to think what kind of attorney he'll make some years down the road. Hopefully Cheese-U will be able to train him out of that.

No. It is WAY lamer to create SEVERAL alts to come back to every single goddamn Wisconsin thread ever created, harass anyone who posts positive things about Wisconsin, subsequently get banned, and create another alt just to try to bash a school that said poster could not get into.

When one user creates several alts to bash Wisconsin, yeah, it's lame. And yes, I will continue to repeat what I said, because continually bashing a school just because they rejected you is obnoxious and pathetic. I was rejected from a bunch of schools and haven't really bashed any of them.

I'm not going to act like an elitist because I got into a school that someone else didn't, especially considering the fact that it's a school that isn't elite. But still, if you got rejected and then feel the need to just keep creating new alts JUST to bash this one school with total BS...yeah, I'm going to throw it back in their face.
