Yeah true. But Manhattan gets a lot more "live subway shows" than Brooklyn. A lot more tourists to shell out some change. Maybe we can argue that Brooklyn's quality > Manhattan's?

I would think so, but I'm not an expert on these matters. I live in Nashville now, and we don't have subways here. But 1) the Eskalators are pretty awesome, all 14+ members, and 2) I've played a "live subway show" in Manhattan and I would not consider myself a quality musician. Actually, it was a dueling harmonica battle with some other guy on the other side of the cart, which I conceded once he busted out a trumpet.

However, lesson: always carry a harmonica with you in NY if you have one. The ability to make music with strangers and get random people to keep rhythm who otherwise wouldn't even look at each other is both rare and oddly rewarding.

They're very easy to play. I rank instrument difficulty (from most difficult to least difficult) as follows:

recorder > glass jug > harmonica > kazoo > guitar hero.

They made a mistake with Nebraska, I guess they had the wrong data dealing with employment rates after graduation. Not sure who is to blame but very unfortunate for us! Hopefully next year we won't "drop" too much more because of this!
