Re: Hofstra 90k vs. U.Baltimore Full Ride?
Is it possible to go to Baltimore declare MD residency then try to transfer to Maryland with in-state tutition and a free year of law school?
Also like other people have said Baltimore has some nice areas to live in around UB (Mt. Veron, Federal Hill though a little far from school). The problem with baltimore is one block can be the difference between 500,000 dollar townhouses and abandoned ones.

I knew that, I just had friends in similiar situtations where they took the scholarship to UB and then transfered to UM. I was just trying to say you would still pay less getting state tutition at UM then paying 90k for hostra.oberlin08 wrote:chruck wrote:Is it possible to go to Baltimore declare MD residency then try to transfer to Maryland with in-state tutition and a free year of law school?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think OP was offered 90k at Hofstra - but would still have to pay 30k more?
Clarification?

I def thought he meant he was paying 90K in debt, but know I see what you are saying.oberlin08 wrote:Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think OP was offered 90k at Hofstra - but would still have to pay 30k more?

Was offered 90k scholly @ Hofstra, and full ride @ UBalt. In the end I turned down both and am currently attending MD, paying In-state sticker

That's not a bad choice. Did the 90K at Hostra with COL included = the same amount of money for instate sticker at MD?reza9333 wrote:Was offered 90k scholly @ Hofstra, and full ride @ UBalt. In the end I turned down both and am currently attending MD, paying In-state sticker

No, Maryland still ends up being roughly 10k more each year.nycparalegal wrote:That's not a bad choice.
