Hofstra 90k vs. U.Baltimore Full Ride?
Having trouble deciding between this T-2 vs. T-3. I'm essentially paying an additional 30K after 3 years if I decide on Hofstra. Any knowledgeable input would be appreciated. If anyone has an idea as to how each school stands in their given regions of Long Island and Baltimore/MD, that would be greatly appreciated as well.

Both regional schools.....where do you want to practice?

Either NY or MD, whichever would provide me with the best job prospects, school considered.

Baltimore grads place pretty damn well in Baltimore. I mean, literally all Baltimore law positions are UM or UBaltimore.

This isn't really any help to OP, but I will give a brief scene from The Wire where Bunk and McNulty are discussing Daniels in season 1
Bunk: "He's even got a law degree."
McNulty: "Really?"
Bunk: "Well, University of Baltimore, but still."
EDIT: To answer OP's question, despite the joke I'd go with U of Baltimore

I think that U of B is actually well regarded in Baltimore. A lot of local judges and politicians went there.
It's true that you'd be competing with U of M grads in Baltimore, but at least you have only one law school ahead of you instead of the approximately 200 law schools that rank ahead of Hofstra in NYC. (To be fair, there are a lot more jobs in NYC.)
I think that Baltimore is an underrated city, but it's definitely not for everyone. Do you like Baltimore? If you do, I vote for the full ride at U of B.

Oh for gods....how many times have you been to Baltimore and how many areas have you seen when you were there?

It doesn't matter if he's been to Baltimore or not. He's just an immature douche who thinks that "smoking crack" jokes are funny.

Baltimore's not that bad. Out of the major American cities I have been to, it is at least top half in terms of my having an enjoyable experience there. Granted, the bulk of my time there was in the harbor area, which is better than the rest of the city, but honestly you're probably not going to live in the hood there anyway, if you don't want to. Take out a few K more per year from Mr. Stafford to live in a comfortable area, since you're there on a full ride anyway.

In all seriousness, this blog --LinkRemoved-- made me scared to go to Hofstra.

Actually, the Mt. Vernon neighborhood, which is just a 5-minute walk from U of B, is pretty cool and relatively affordable. Baltimore isn't my favorite city in the country, but it's a fun city. I'd rather live there than in DC.

I'm a native...you can find awesome housing in Fells, Fed Hill, Canton, Hampden and as said, best location for the law school...Mt. Vernon. Its actually a very fun and affordable city.
Also, this thread is ridiculously old. Check the OP date.

LOL. I totally didn't catch that.
Well, maybe this thread will provide some perspective to a lurker who is considering U of B (or even U of M).

I wrote that back when this thread was first posted. I came in here when I saw it came back up, seen I had posted...and then wrote my first comment of tonight, which was my second post of the thread. Hold on. I need to figure this out.
