I find Harvard law atrocious.

I would still go.

University of Denver's new "green" law building is pretty amazing:

How did nobody mention Notre Dame? They are the best outside of T20. Besides them Michigan is BY FAR the nicest (anyone who says otherwise hasn't seen it first hand). After that I would say Cornell and i'm pretty sure there was a Tier 3 or 4 school that had amazing gothic architecture.

Thanks a bunch for all the input. Since I'm not headed to T-14 it really becomes a matter of where I want to be. All of your suggestions really help. I might throw an app at KU, even though I've sent out a bunch already.

So based on these choices where would you go?

Notre Dame
North Carolina
Hastings
Colorado
Denver
Santa Clara
Arizona/State
Florida
Miami
Oregon
Penn State
San Diego
Utah

1. Notre Dame
2. Colorado

skip the rest, IMO.

Oregon's campus and law building are beautiful however after living in Eugene for the past 4 years I would suggest looking somewhere else unless you don't mind long wet winters and a town with little to do. Santa Clara is in a great location, decent law building ( a little old) but has a great IP program if that is what you are into.

My choice is and would be Colorado law because it is a great town (boulder), close to a great city (30 mins to Denver), near ski resorts and tons of out door activities and the law building is brand new and pretty great. They are also ranked well compared to the others in your list.

The former pic is pretty pointless in this thread.

I applied to Maryland as well. Not Drexel. I also applied to Gonzaga, Depaul, and Berkeley(not holding my breath)

Cornell and Oregon look pretty sweet.

But if you walk through Michigan's law quad...you feel as if you entered a completely different world. I only wish the entire campus at UofM can be as sweet as the law quad.

I would really like to go to M. But it just doesn't seem likely. I'm a splitter with a somewhat low LSAT. LSAT<165

Try taking the LSAT one more time (isn't that what the general theme seems to be)? :)

If not, just apply anyway and expect a rejection...but maybe there's that chance you'll get in.

If not (again), I'd go with Colorado, Oregon, Santa Clara, or Lewis and Clark (buildings are okay, but it's only 10 minutes from downtown Portland and being situated next to a 600 acre forest is pretty awesome).

that sounds good. I had also considered Lewis and Clark. I think the Northwest is absolutely gorgeous! Taking the LSAT again is probably not going to happen because I am going somewhere next Fall... I don't want to wait another year and I don't want to apply so late in the cycle.

So really it becomes a matter of... where will I be happy..

If I really feel inclined I'll try to transfer up, but that's a year away.

The general consensus seems to be ..
1. Notre Dame
2. Colorado
3. UNC

These were actually my 3 top choices so it's good to see some validation.

As if this thread weren't silly enough, what do you think my chances would be to have a career in Academia if I went to ND, UNC, Colorado?

I'd say tough, but not impossible. Depends on the excellent material you write, along with how well you do in school.

Thanks for all the help. I guess I'll just see where I get in and try to visit as many schools as I can.

http://law.nd.edu/about/law-school-expansion Brand new building. We're starting classes in it on Monday. The website has a webcam and a slideshow with the mockup of how it's designed to look if you're interested.

TY for the link. I checked out the webcam... Looks cold! Anyways, if I get in I will go. Hands down, period, decided. If not, that's where I run into trouble!

That's really cool. I guess outside of the top 20, ND is king, huh?

If Notre Dame somehow got transported out of South Bend it might get a bump!

still... I want to go.
