I'm on the fence about a school down south. Now this: http://amzn.to/2vsfR1x
How do I find out if it's FP?

But which school are you talking about? Your inquiry should not start and finish with the for-profit question. Plenty of non-profit schools leave you in just as much debt with job prospects that are just as bleak as a for-profit institution.

If you have never heard of the school before applying to it you should not go there

The list of for-profit law schools is harder to find then I expected. For posterity, as of today this is the list of ABA accredited for-profit law schools:

Arizona Summit School of Law
Atlanta's John Marshall Law School
Charlotte School of Law
Charleston School of Law
Florida Coastal School of Law
Western State College of Law

A number of these might convert to non-profit or may close. Charlotte currently isn't enrolling any new students.

There are also a number of for-profit law schools in California which are unaccredited or state accredited. There might be similar non-ABA schools in other states.

Not to harp on this point, but if you Google "for-profit law schools", every school on your list (except John Marshall) is displayed at the very top of the search results. I'm sure it would be harder to track down all the non-accredited schools, but is that really worth anyone's time?

All law schools are for profit. It's just that at some schools the profits go to shareholders, at others they go to professors and deans.

Getting a salary isn't the same as making a profit.
