Still BU but maybe try to negotiate more money with your vanderbilt offer given the great new employment statistics.

Vandy does look good but there is no guarantee other years will be the same. Also, and more importantly, I think BU for Boston is better than Vandy for Boston.

I think I'd go with BU if you want to work in Boston. From my experiences working in Boston people love hiring from BU and BC. I don't think the Vanderbilt name carries as much in Mass. Congrats though you have two awesome offers to choose from.

Absent the want of Boston, I would pick Vandy under your circumstances. NYC/biglaw IP would certainly be plausible from Vandy, but if the end goal is Boston, Vandy probably won't get you there due to the semi-insularity of the market.

How much did BC give you? They place slightly better into Boston Biglaw than BU

IIRC OP had a previous post stating BC offered him like 20K less and wouldn't negotiate

Vandy grad here. Boston is possible, but everyone I know who ended up there hustled hard, and Vandy want much help. I think that your COA is too high for either school, but in your case, I would take BU given the info provided.

If there is an chance in your mind that you would want to work outside of Boston, Vandy is a better choice, but I still think your COA is 50-75K too high to make it worth it. The COA you provide for Vandy will be 200K in loans debt at graduation unless you have an independent source of funds. Vandy isn't worth that much, even as a graduate who got a good outcome.

In the exact situation as you (except I'm gunning for NY Biglaw), and decided to go Vandy over BU. I think if you want Boston, I think BU might be better IMO.
