Is $133k the total COA?
Either way, I would take a year off and retake the LSAT for more $$

Clarify what the 133k is referring to.

Re: BC 133k or Gap Year + Retake
So you're looking at about 80k in debt for BC, assuming you're financing everything beyond your scholarship with loans. It's up to you to determine if that's an acceptable debt load for BC. It's strange that you were accepted with such a high scholarship from BC but waitlisted at BU.
Regarding a retake, you need to take a good hard look in the mirror and ask yourself - did you do everything you possibly could to study for the LSAT the first two times you took it? If not, sit out and retake. If so, given that you got a 164 both times, it doesn't seem likely that you'll improve much more, which is fine - not everyone can crack a 170 - but in that case it might not be worth losing a year of your career.

Uhh COA is how much you'll actually be paying total.helpmedecide222 wrote:133k scholarship (tuition is about 150k) COA is about 210k
I'm guessing it will be in the high 5 figures though.
I think that's acceptable for BC for someone wanting Boston.
I don't see you getting better options for Boston with that GPA even if you were to retake.
Just know it's more likely than not that you won't get biglaw but ~40% is still pretty decent for a non-T13. Just have a plan B and be fine with a more modest salary.

That is an amazing scholarship for your stats! Congrats! I'd do BC for that much.

I rarely get to say this, so I'm not going to pass up the opportunity:
I wouldn't retake. BC is a defensible outcome given your goals and circumstances. And, even if you ended up with a 165/166/167 on your third retake, I imagine the only Boston door it'd open is an admit and money at BU. My guess is BC's offer would stay pretty close to where it is now.
Enjoy!

BC at 80k of debt isn't crazy I don't think. Just be prepared for the roughly 66% chance you won't get Biglaw and have alternate job paths in line. Also with the caveat that hard work doesn't equal success in law school, work and hustle your ass off during 1L.

I'm confused. Your scholarship is 133k with a 3.33/164? In your post history you said 63k scholly in the BC thread

I think OP means with the scholarship its 133K. 201k-63k = 133kish??? Not going to double check that math, but I think that's probably what OP means.mrtux45 wrote:I'm confused. Your scholarship is 133k with a 3.33/164? In your post history you said 63k scholly in the BC thread

Re: BC 133k or Gap Year + Retake
BC at ~80k total cost of attendance = good option totally doable
BC at ~150k total cost of attendance (you gotta factor in interest accruing during school) = eehhhhhhh. Probably gap year and retake to push that down closer to or below 100k.

Learn to do math please. The helpful number is:helpmedecide222 wrote:133k scholarship (tuition is about 150k) COA is about 210k
[total COA (3 years of tuition+housing+etc)] - [scholarship]
Provide that number rather than all these other random things.
