he was going to Touro then St. Johns, then Thomas Jefferson, then dropped out, then never wanted to go. Had a 166 then never took the LSAT, then had only a 152.Pragmatic Gun wrote:What was his claim to fame? I barely recall himPure Applesauce wrote:Also whatever happened to John1990. Re: QU v Cardozo(Ferrisjso's decision)
Went to law school, did a semester (or more, or less, but always under a year), dropped out, reapplied to another school. Sometimes he'd disclose his schools sometimes he wouldn't (I think this was part of his shtick, but I could be misremembering). Would always make a thread asking for advice even though no one has gone to 3 law schools and dropped out and then reapplied.Pragmatic Gun wrote:What was his claim to fame? I'm feeling nostalgic today, so I thought I'd take us all back to one of Ferris's very first choosing threads.
Note the focus on tax law and the desire to live in VA. Ahh, how time flies.

Knowing what we know now makes reading that thread all the more infuriating on an intellectual level.Mikey wrote:They grow up so fast :')cavalier1138 wrote:I'm feeling nostalgic today, so I thought I'd take us all back to one of Ferris's very first choosing threads.

From that thread, talking about his personal statement:
Absolutely shocked that Ferris is inspired by something that wears blinders.Ferrisjso wrote:I wrote about my favorite racehorse and how he inspired me to never give up.

You're on top of things, good job. Yes, I am going to Dickinson this fall on a full-tuition waiver and $15k stipend. No offense to Akron, but sitting out and retaking was the correct choice in my situation.baseballfan660 wrote:he ended up sitting out tho, and i believe is now going to penn state dickinson for free, so much better outcome/PeanutsNJam wrote:Yes he was the Akron guypancakes3 wrote:was bmathers the lazy river guy?

15k over 3 yrs, so 5k/yr guaranteed. Thank you. This year I heard from an Dickinson alum family friend that they have decided to put alumni contributions towards stipends to attract desired talent, so I guess that I lucked out by waiting a cycle with this as well.Veil of Ignorance wrote:15k stipend? Re: QU v Cardozo(Ferrisjso's decision)
I'm requesting the mods close this thread. This was my choosing thread and the fact it became the abomination it did was entirely unintentional. I would request that if any 0L's want to talk to me for any advice/share experiences to PM me. While I hope the mods will honor my request and lock this thread, I will summarize my situation here so that lurkers can see how this whole thing ended(and apparently there's a few who wonder this, though honestly I really don't know why you'd care, though I'm touched) without looking through the way too many pages on this thread.
My decision was between Cardozo and UCONN originally(I edited the title when that changed). UCONN gave me a half ride for in state tuition but their out of state rate made that potentially north of 200k in debt if I didn't receive in state tuition and I was left with the impression that getting the instate rate for my second and third year was no guarantee. They also went through the trouble to call me and get me excited for an 1000 a year scholarship increase that while good intentioned didn't change my situation. Cardozo gave me originally a little less than a half ride and then upped my scholly offer to a little more than a half ride so I was going to go to Cardozo.
Meanwhile QU who'd offered me an almost full ride with conditions had been knocked off my list, because one thing that I learned from TLS is to never accept conditional scholarships. QU called me though and told me they'd decided to take the stips off of my scholarship. So after a tough decision making process(which is partially shown in the final pages of this monstrosity ), I chose QU.
THE END
Mods I kindly request you close this thread. In all seriousness though I thank all the people who helped me make my decision and at the end of the day your advice helped me realize that debt adversity was most important to me and I chose my school accordingly.

Naw you cant close this thread. We still have questions, such as how can Ferris complain about the social life given he's already lived there for 4 years previously?
Shouldn't he have known?
Whats next? Complaints about the food?
These questions keep me up at night
