I would sit out and try to get that LSAT up. Three more points would be a total game changer.

If you're definitely not retaking and deadset on law, I would just pull the trigger on Vandy. Those numbers are low for UVA so getting scholly money from them is unlikely.

I second this poster. It sounds like your mind is made up in that you won't retake but will go to law school. May as well take the solid opportunity in front of you. Good luck at Vandy!

Re: Take offer or sit another cycle out?
Retaking is a free roll that costs like a couple hundred bucks. Score higher (even one point), you benefit. Score lower, there is literally no downside. "Really?" you're going to ask. Yes, really. I would definitely retake in the Fall.
How are you calculating your debt here? Are you factoring in tuition increases, loan origination fees, potential summer cost of living, accumulated interest, etc.? Just guessing at what your scholarship might be at Vandy I would think you're facing closer to 150K debt but I could be wrong.

Regardless of date of application, those numbers likely aren't getting you into UVA and they definitely aren't getting you any $$$. Vanderbilt is a great option though at that cost imo.

Feels to me you have a decent chance at Gtown with some scholly money if you apply from day 1. You might get UVA at sticker if you ED.

What do you want to do? Its not a terrible Vandy offer, but you could retake and apply earlier and do a lot better.

Unless you're a URM, you won't get UVA money. You'd be lucky to get an acceptance at all.do_me_a_favor wrote:I know i could probably do better in terms of getting more acceptances etc. if I applied early, but I doubt it would be $$ at uva right? so at this point I'm probably doing well at Vandy

Can you do_me_a_favor and explain how you came up with that debt figure? You're not just subtracting scholarship money from cost of attendance, multiplying by 3, and calling it good, are you?
