BU v ND
Hi all,
Reaching out for some advice, deciding between two schools:
ND: around 30000 a year.
BU: around 32000 a year.
No previous debt. Currently living and working in Boston. Think I want to stay here professionally after graduation. Loved my ND visit; felt pretty good about BU.

I think you already know the answer, then.lakergrad wrote:Currently living and working in Boston. Think I want to stay here professionally after graduation.
If ND placed any students in Massachusetts last year, then it was a very small number. Now, that could be self-selection, but Boston has access to a number of very good schools. If you want to stay in town, BU is clearly the better choice.

Calculate actual 3-year total COA, with interest/loan fees/etc included, otherwise you're not going to get the sort of analysis you need. It sounds like ND is out based on geography, but I don't think BU can be assessed without a more complete estimate. Don't be conservative in your cost estimates for anything. I have a hunch the answer is "neither" here.

Sorry those scholarships were per year.

I probably wouldn't go to either school at that projected cost of attendance. You're probably looking at 130K+ debt. Crunch the numbers and see what they look like.

Based on the little info, BU is the better choice. ND only placed 8 people in Boston in the last 5 years according to their "career placement map."

With Boston ties you can certainly get Boston from ND. But I don't know why you wouldn't just go to BU.
