2yr JD at Northwestern, anyone knows anything?

I am opening a new thread for this irregular program at Nothwestern - not the accelerated JD with summer school but the program for international lawyers which automatically recognize one-year credit for your prior legal education from other countries.

I have applied for this program with other 3yr regular JD programs from other law schools. Right now I have only this ad from a t14 and several others with sticker from t20 schools.

I am wondering what do you guys know and hear about this program.

What I heard:
1. The candidates for this 2yr program are to be integrated with NU's regular JD class,
2. the OCI will be difficult or at least different, students will have to take OCI even before they start at NU, since there is only one summer for them, so there will be no 1L grades
3. The tuition will be equal to 3yr program

My background:
3yr w/e at a top law firm from another country, llb from China + llm from a uk school, female, want to stay in the us after JD

Which should I choose: NU's 2yr JD or t20's regular jd?

Thanks a million for any thoughts!!!

I honestly know nothing really about the JD program or just general coming in with a foreign degree, but I thought the credited path was to just get an LLM?

Thanks for your reply. I understand, but because I already have an LLM, doing another would have little value added here. Apart from the slim chance of getting an OCI with literally no 1L grades, I am wondering if there is any other things I have missed out will prevent 2yr JDs getting a job. I do realize that there are few people who know about this program, even for northwesterners, rumor is that only 2-3 students are doing this every year.

Anecdotal, but since there are so few that might be all you're gonna get... my classmate is a 2yr in this program and is going to a V10 in NYC. She got it through 3L OCI since in the program you basically skip 2L.

Good information from kcdc1 in there.

There's also another thread for the AJD c/o 2017 somewhere, too.

He/she isn't asking about the AJD program but a different 2 year JD program that Northwestern offers (I know.. most schools don't even offer 1 and Northwestern has two different types..)

Hi,

I'm also thinking of applying for the same thing. (US citizen with a B.A. L.L.B. Honors from India and will have been working for 3 years as in-house counsel to a large product company).

Does anyone know any details of the program or can share their experience? I'm not finding much online about it.

What I really want to know is if there is an ED option to the 2 year JD. It's the best law school offering it and I'm loving what I read about NW law school.

Thanks in advance for any reply to this!
