What I am surprised about is the fact that 25 people would not attend short of full tuition. Are the majority of these votes by OLs who have not had to work big law / repay their debts yet?

This is because the way you have phrased this doesn't make sense and is hard to follow for people. You need to use COA numbers, not scholarships.

Also yes, the majority of these votes are probably from 0L's who do not fully appreciate large amounts of debt. But the other thing is they are not calculating COA in their head and seeing what the full debt load really is. You would get better results if you phrased your question in terms of "Which COA would NYU have to be for you to pick it over HLS COA"

And this is why I wish the polls could break down the votes by whether they are coming from 0L's, students, or grads. You have to account for the 0L factor in polls like these, and sometimes it can be hard to parse out. But here, it is pretty easy to see.

It will be more expensive overall in NY, hence my earlier comment.

Yeah I can be convinced it's less than I thought. Op when do you expect to know nyus offer?

Yea, I used to think COL would be very different too. But after visiting Cambridge and looking at pricing, it seems that they would be comparable because I'd live close to HLS if I attended there, and obviously much more modestly in NYC.

I'll be back with an NYU offer $ anyday now. Something tells me that it will be at least 105k.

For what it's worth I'll be a five minute walk to campus, have 2 rooms (2 bathrooms) and a large bedroom. If you are willing to have roommates the notion that you need to pay 1500-2000 for something decent in Cambridge is wrong (but common).

I used $1500/month (NYU) vs $1000/month at Cambridge * 27 months for a rough estimate. Obviously these can be lower and higher at both places depending on how far away you want to live, size, ect.
