Columbia vs. NYU vs. Michigan ($$) vs. GULC ($$$)

-The schools you are considering

Accepted: Columbia, NYU, Michigan, Cornell, GULC
Waitlist: Duke, UVA, Penn, Notre Dame (?)
Rejected: Harvard
Pending: UChi

-The total Cost of Attendance (COA) of each. COA = cost of tuition + fees + books + cost of living (COL) + accumulated interest - scholarships.

Columbia: ~$225,000 (Aid pending)
NYU: ~$215,000 (Aid pending)
Michigan: ~$120,000
Cornell: ~$235,000 (Aid pending)
GULC: ~40,000

Where you are from and where you want to work, and other places where you have significant ties (if any)
would work in Chicago> NYC > SF > Any other large metropolitan area. I would also love to work overseas (London, Rome, Madrid, etc.).

Will do, just trying to get an initial reaction, because the GULC scholarship needs to be accepted by the 14th (I guess I could ask for an extension though).

Don't accept anything until you have final offers. The other schools will match GULC at least somewhat.

Good advice, thank you. I'll update this once I get all my offers.

Given your location preferences I'd go to Mich. I would ask Mich for some more money first though.
