Penn State vs. Catholic

Was wondering your opinions on these two schools. I have a few more to hear from but please refrain from saying don't go to either, or anything like that. I know the debt stats; I want to practice law so I am going to law school. I received a 15k a year scholly for Catholic. I have not received any initial money for Penn State but will ask for some later on down the road. Catholic worries me due to the competition in DC for employment with 38% employment according to LST. Penn State is around 56%. If i receive no money from Penn State, which is a better choice?

Upon initial thought, I would like to practice in the DC, MD, VA but am open to other areas as well. So, location is a factor but not make or break.

I know you don't want to hear it, but neither and retake is TCR.

Please refrain from saying neither. I am going to law school. If you have no advice for choosing between these two schools, DO NOT reply.

this type of thinking is pernicious.

if you do find work, it's probably going to be only in DC or PA if you end up going to one of these schools. also, penn state is a cheaper, so that almost equalizes the scholarship situation. I'd pick penn state if I were you, 20% higher chance of finding work upon graduation.

If you want to practice law you should retake the LSAT and go to a school that provides you with more than a coin-flip chance of becoming a practicing attorney.

If you're definitely going to law school, go to catholic, you deserve the worst that could possibly happen. Think of all that prestige, being in a DC private school.

Dont go. Retake. Improve Prospects. If not, don't go at all.

Catholic is never defensable.

PSU is a bad option for you. Paying sticker is a rip off + you're not from there.

I wouldn't go to Catholic even if it were free. You won't be practicing law in all likelihood if you go there.

This is exactly why you SHOULDN'T go with either of these options.

Realize you might be making a terrible choice.
Examine your previous LSAT exams for ways you can improve.
Trust the experienced lawyers and law students who understand this process better than you do.
Accept their advice to give yourself the best chance to achieve your goals.
Kill your next LSAT sitting.
Enjoy a lot of money from current schools or significantly better job prospects at different ones.

Retake and re-evaluate is the right answer but if you're dead-set on one or the other, Penn State is the obvious choice.

EDIT: Also, I should mention that Penn State at sticker is no joke. So I hope you're prepared to bust your ass through law school to pay that debt down. I'd prefer to bust my ass for a month or two and retake the LSAT myself and go to Penn State(or better) for free, or at least at a discount, but to each his own.

Should I shoot myself in the chest or the face?

Please don't say "don't shoot yourself"

I'd think you should go to which ever one winds up being cheaper over all. Since you know your chances of becoming an attorney after law school are lower, you'll at least have a lower student debt payment to make.

It's not the choice I'd make, but if you're determined to go to one of these schools, just don't saddle yourself with more debt.

This.

Also: Neither. Retake.

Common, OP, don't be so god damn stubborn. I am in the same position as you, albeit I got into higher ranked schools and received double the scholarship, take the TLS advice and RETAKE. I am planning on using all the helpful guides and resources that this amazing forum offers and retaking in September. Law school can always wait another year. I don't see why you wouldn't want to maximize your chances of success/$$$.

If you don't mind living in crippling debt for the rest of your life and probably never being gainfully employed as a lawyer, then knock yourself out. These are both rancid options.
