You're making a mistake. only 1 out of 10+ plus people are telling you to take ND.

You just wanted to hear 1 person say it and now you're cool with the "solid advice"

I say you should go.

Only because I think this provides the best chance that you'll post less very soon.

I see where you're coming from, Thriller, but these kinds of posts make me nervous. I need more posts that are supportive and encourage me that this is a good decision otherwise I might crack under the pressure and tank it at ND. :?

Ok, I encourage you to stop trolling TLS.

Anyone know how strong ND is in major Midwest markets other than Chicago? Does getting a great job in those places depend on having regional ties in addition to grades?

Hates going against the odds.

Attends ND at sticker.

Someone make a meme for this please.

The biggest problem is that you're skewing numbers in your head to help out your position. At this rate, going pretty much condemns you to student loans until you're 40s. There's no way you're going to be able to pay off even 200k of debt on a non-biglaw salary in less than 20 years. And that's assuming you put 20k a year into loans, which is obnoxiously huge.

Right now, you have what, 35k in student loans? On a ten-year plan, that's going to cost you $5,000 in payments over the next year.

So let's see. Almost half a million dollars in debt, assuming lots of family support that you won't be able to pay off until your 40s if you're lucky for a 33% chance at getting a biglaw job. Not great odds.

Alternatively, waiting it out a year and working at Burger King costs you 5k in student loan payments.

As I said before, go if you want, but be prepared to fully understand what you're doing. If you go in planning on defaulting on your loans, make sure you understand the implications of that. I'm personally of the opinion that you could make NDLS work, but just because you can make it work doesn't mean that 1) it will and 2) you should.

Bro, you can't ask for opinions and then insist on only supportive ones. :?

I have but ND would be awfully hard to pass up.

ND and BC are peer schools. You want to go to ND because life is hard right now and this would make it easier and more exciting. Suck it up and retake the LSAT.

You can't get a job now but you think that by going to a law school with meh job prospects you will get a job? WTF?

You do realize that if you go to a school like ND that unless you get good grades you're going to have to hustle your butt off to get a job, right? Right now at this point in time you're either failing at hustling to get a job or you're too lazy and your hustle is weak. Why would it be any different for you in two or three years?

As for the good grades part it has already been pointed out that its easier to do well on the LSAT than to do well in 5 or 6 or more law school classes. One bad grade could sink you. Not to mention you don't have a particularly strong LSAT score or undergrad GPA. If you have never performed particularly strong in school to this point what makes you think law school will be any different? You couldn't get much better than a slightly above average GPA in college when tons of people DGAF but now you'll succeed when pitted against a pool of people who are significantly more intelligent and driven on average? Come on bro.

Neither. Retake.

You've been around long enough to know that ND at sticker is an incredibly terrible decision. If you ignore the overwhelming majority of posters here and go, all the time you've spent (trolling) here on TLS will have been in vain. Retake.

Retake sounds good, Zuck, but I'm definitely ready to work hard and put the booze and games away so I just wonder if this could be a good chance to go in there like Alabama and kick some ass. I doubt it though.........

K, thanks for all the advice guys. I just wanted someone to sell me on Notre Dame at sticker price. (Still time to do that if you can pitch it to me by next Friday)

Just read through the Vale of Tears thread for a glimpse of the reality of hiring. Most of those posters went to schools that are much better than Notre Dame.
You need a reality check.
