Florida Legal Market

Post by dempsey6 » Tue Jul 23, 2013 4:59 pm

The Florida legal market is obviously not the strongest, but which T-14's have the strongest presence for someone who prefers to practice in the state?

I'd imagine the South Florida area has the strongest market?

I'm not sure what you mean by "presence." If you're talking about placement power, it's YHS, then probably UVA and Duke.

Yeah, that is essentially what I meant. The latter 2 over CCNP? Interesting..

No guarantees on that, as I'm no expert on the FL market, but I've read comments from others to the effect that outside of YHS, the rest of the T14 is seen as more or less equivalent, with the nearby southern T14s possibly having a slight advantage over the rest of the pack. Hopefully one of the posters who knows more about FL will chime in.

Yale > HS > CCN > T14 > Vanderbilt > UF/FSU > Miami > lolz

EDIT: I agree with above poster that Duke/UVA are more fungible, probably somewhere up with CCN. An Chicago/NYU might not be as strong as they should be.

Maybe there are a few exceptions -- I see people listing Vanderbilt, so perhaps that's a real example -- but just look at the T14 and rank according to prestige. I am unaware of any predominant T14 in FL.

TCR is YHS and then probably everything else in accordance with whatever prestige the school holds. (Good luck allocating that.)
