Any info on Northwestern AJD students with $150k scholly?

Postby 180asBreath » Thu Jul 04, 2013 9:33 pm

I was wondering what kind of numbers those applicants had.

What kind of LSAT would a PhD with a 3.9 need?

Thanks

170+ should be good, but why not shoot for Yale with those stats and softs?

That is an interesting thought. I have ties to Chicago so I told myself NU or UChicago, but perhaps I should be more open to other schools.

Thanks for the post.

Yeah, I mean if you shoot for 180, then you have a real shot at getting all of HYS and CC with full rides. You already have actual great softs, so just kill the LSAT.

Thanks, man. I already have a ~165 under my belt and have a dozen 170's on fresh PT's; I do think I could kill it if I dedicated myself to it these next 3 months...

I just don't know if I have it in me; but then again, if I don't have the energy or desire to study for 3 months for a (great shot at a) full scholarship to a T14 law school - I probably shouldn't be going to law school, haha.

Was going to say the last sentence before you said it yourself.

Just go get a 180, don't worry about all the "what is the minimum effort I need to put in?" hypos.

Ah, I remember you. Your thread was super motivating -- why'd you let the bad score get you down? :(

seriously? bad score? 165 is in the 90th percentile. While perhaps not good enough HYS, it's definitely not a "bad" score. If you have been PTing in 170s , then you owe it to yourself to retake.

I would be really interested to know what the average stats for regular posters on here is. If you look at the C/O 2016 page, a little under two-thirds of those reporting are going T14, which I guess gives a decent indication. Yes, I realize that's a self-selected sample within a self-selected sample, but still.

I believe someone (probably LSATSCORES2012?) ran the numbers a while ago and 170 was our 60th percentile.

Well, there you go. A population that represents 2.5% of LSAT takers is 40% of TLS. Probably very few of the "regular posters" have LSATs under 165, because anybody that spent more than two seconds on here would retake with that. But there's a reason for that.

The easiest quantitative evidence is LSN data. A hell of a lot more people apply to UChi/Duke/Cornell or schools that don't get a ton of applicants IRL compared to schools like American, which is usually one of the top ten schools in terms of numbers of applicants but is much less well-represented here.

bump. interested in knowing stats for NU AJD students getting 150k. From my research it seems that they are more likely to give out the 150k for AJD because it appears they offered some people who were admitted as RD to the 3 year program a $scholarship to take AJD instead. I know someone with a 3.9+ 174 got the 150 for NU AJD but those stats are so high that it is unhelpful to me.

Wondering if someone with a 170/171 and 3.9 can get the full ride too. Personally, I think those applicants have a great shot applying ED to NU and securing the $$$ but its more of a dice roll if they REALLY WANT the 2 year AJD program since there is no ED for that.
