Re: Had a Full Ride at a T2
OP, just go work for a few years (I'm thinking like 5) and then revisit the law school idea. I think if you go any time soon it will be disastrous*

Better you not enjoy your 20s and enjoy your 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, and so on, than enjoy your 20s and be wallowing in debt and misery the rest of your days.DaRascal wrote:Br3v wrote:Retake and apply next year man. I'm never gonna get to enjoy my 20's huh?

Don't be dramatic. You can enjoy your life and study for the LSAT at the same time.DaRascal wrote:Br3v wrote:Retake and apply next year man. Otherwise apply with the same stats and in sure you can find another fully scholarship somewhere. Good luck!

And even law school isn't the absolute hell it's made out to be, from what I've heard.francesfarmer wrote:Don't be dramatic. Might as well study hard for a retake. Nothing to lose but time and effort I suppose.

Now do you see why it is so important not to take on a ton more debt if the law school you go to doesn't provide a chance at a job that can pay it off?DaRascal wrote:Well it's awfully hard to have fun when you're working a $9/hour retail job over the summer because you can't get a callback from a decent job despite having a degree from a great school, have close to $40k in undergrad loans that need to start being paid back in six months, come from a poor background, and on top of all that you need to retake one of the toughest graduate school entry exams for a second time with little margin for error or else you'll likely be screwed.

Take it easy on him. He's going to retake the LSAT and do better, and his life will be greatly improved because of it.FloridaCoastalorbust wrote:DaRascal wrote:Well it's awfully hard to have fun when you're working a $9/hour retail job over the summer because you can't get a callback from a decent job despite having a degree from a great school, have close to $40k in undergrad loans that need to start being paid back in six months, come from a poor background, and on top of all that you need to retake one of the toughest graduate school entry exams for a second time with little margin for error or else you'll likely be screwed.

You invented whole new levels of prestige whoring dude, don't blame TLS. You've told numerous ppl here to abandon $$ for peer schools ranked barely higher for no other reason than rank.DaRascal wrote:I got sucked into the TLS prestige whore mentality.

Cry me a river. I took the LSAT when I was unemployed and living on a friend's couch. I survived on $2,000 over a period of 10 months. I had just lost a parent. Self-pity does not help.DaRascal wrote:Well it's awfully hard to have fun when you're working a $9/hour retail job over the summer because you can't get a callback from a decent job despite having a degree from a great school, have close to $40k in undergrad loans that need to start being paid back in six months, come from a poor background, and on top of all that you need to retake one of the toughest graduate school entry exams for a second time with little margin for error or else you'll likely be screwed.

Besides, I wouldn't even say TLS is a prestige whoring place. If it whores anything, it's jobs.Cobretti wrote:You invented whole new levels of prestige whoring dude, don't blame TLS. Re: Had a Full Ride at a T2
Big thing is, OP, that you have to accept this is what real life is like. Sometimes shit will go down that you have no control over, sometimes you'll make mistakes, and sometimes things just will not go your way. Take the lesson from each instance, and move forward.
In this case, stay positive, don't look at this as a lost opportunity, but potentially a shot at redemption. You could have a fantastic future ahead of you if you crush that LSAT. Don't let go of the opportunity at hand.
