on NYU/Columbia

Are the fact that these schools are in NYC factored in to their rank?

There is no binary "NYC/not NYC" metric in the USNWR calculations.

then it seems like NYU/CLS are slightly devalued by the ranking system; being in NYC has to be a huge boon to employment prospects that should be accounted for by TLS'ers.

Uh, what? If that is in fact a "huge boon," then it's already accounted for by USNWR--there's a weight assigned to employment scores (though perhaps that should be more heavily weighted). If there were an extra "in NYC" criterion, that'd be double counting.

This is dumb, a major flame, or bad pro-T6 trolling. CLS and NYU are already ranked extremely highly. As another poster said, their ranking contains their employment data -- should that be weighted more heavily? Probably, but it wouldnt change their rank -- and subsequently it ranks any factors implicated by/impacting employment data.

If I can hit their median LSAT, would I be competitive? Or would I really need a 176 to be looked at like a 171 at NYU?
Its not real. They dont average.
