Are the fact that these schools are in NYC factored in to their rank?

then it seems like NYU/CLS are slightly devalued by the ranking system; being in NYC has to be a huge boon to employment prospects that should be accounted for by TLS'ers.Bronck wrote:There is no binary "NYC/not NYC" metric in the USNWR calculations.
Uh, what? If that is in fact a "huge boon," then it's already accounted for by USNWR--there's a weight assigned to employment scores (though perhaps that should be more heavily weighted). If there were an extra "in NYC" criterion, that'd be double counting.willwilliams1334 wrote:then it seems like NYU/CLS are slightly devalued by the ranking system; being in NYC has to be a huge boon to employment prospects that should be accounted for by TLS'ers.Bronck wrote:There is no binary "NYC/not NYC" metric in the USNWR calculations.
proximity to NYC accounts for like 80% of the USNWR ranking doodwillwilliams1334 wrote:Are the fact that these schools are in NYC factored in to their rank?
Its not real. They dont average.sublime12089 wrote:To make this topic somewhat useful, how real is their "we average LSAT scores" thing. I am a 3.73 (slightly above both's median)/166 planning to retake in October. If I can hit their median LSAT, would I be competitive? Or would I really need a 176 to be looked at like a 171 at NYU?
