Just like the last two or three threads you've made, the answer is still none of the above.

If you're just looking for a place to spend 250K of your parents' money, retake for LA/Miami.

For all the publicity you give AU, the school should pay you to go there.
For all the time of TLSers that you've wasted, you should pay us.

I voted American, but its really a shit chance either way. It would come down to american v northeastern depending on whether you want a marginal chance of legal employment in DC, or a marginal chance of legal employment in boston. For reference:

http://www.lstscorereports.com/?school=american
http://www.lstscorereports.com/?school=northweastern

with roughly 21% PI

vs.

http://www.lstscorereports.com/?school=stjohns
http://www.lstscorereports.com/?school=suffolk

with roughly 10-12% PI.

Why didn't you apply to CUNY? If you really, really want PI and have lower numbers, CUNY is really the only school you should consider. Low debt, and they place much better than peer schools in public interest positions. It's still not a great option but better than any of these.

This is absurd. Either you work for American or you're just extremely bad at using reason to make decisions.

This. Also why is money not an object? Are you gloriously wealthy?

OP is actually trying to engage a somewhat meaningful discussion on the relevancy of various statistics. maybe it's worth giving it discussion.

the University of Denver places the most lawyers into public interest positions. WorldTraveler, you're right about CUNY - places significantly higher than American or Northeastern.
CUNY would be a good bet for regional PI work -- better than your alternatives.

Also consider when you are looking at these PI numbers, they are not necessarily reflective of PI opportunity. American might place more grads into "public interest" positions, but this is primarily because their grads can't get full time legal work at large firms or in federal clerkships. You have to consider what kind of PI work they are going into. NYU, Michigan, and Georgetown will give you far better employment prospects in PI than these regional schools despite having lower %'s on LST.

Don't source random articles for employment data. University of Denver:
http://www.lstscorereports.com/?school=denver
Lower than American and Northeastern for PI.. it also services a completely different market (Colorado vs. new england).

treenapolits wrote:Well, I guess that article isn't the same for University of Denver. However, it is identical for LST's public service scores for Northeastern and American. Unless you'd like to figure out the statistical likelihood of placing into public interest in any given school, comparatively and relative to overall employment rates, right now all we have is the current numbers. Anyone know of a preferred public interest law school ranking or article? (or perhaps another website?)
