between the two, uci. as much of a risk uci is, davis is a known quantity, and it ain't pretty. its biglaw numbers are pathetic and its rank will continue to plummet. also, the school is a feeder for sacramento's legal market...not a good thing. at least with uci, you can hope that the faculty's connections hold up for another year; worst case scenario, it will probably still place more students in biglaw than davis.

RETAKE if you can. If not, Irvine

Only 34.9% of Davis graduates were employed at graduation

I think that's too much debt for either school. No full ride at any other school?

You can get grad housing w/ a roommate for 750 on campus though...

I'd take UCI. Students are reporting the big law offers and great experience at the new school. Davis students seem to talk about...well...how they wish they didn't go to Davis

I voted UCI. I agree with the above poster tht the unknown potential is better to the total lack thereof.

And I agree with OP in this particular case that retake is not an option past 3 attempts -- I know they dont take scores seriously after.

Definitely neither. But if forced, UCI over Davis.

Between the two, UCI is a no-brainer. Dean Chem and team have a personal, vested interest to help y'all find jobs. Their own prestige is on the line.

Davis and Hasting faculty are just collecting paychecks in comparison.

Despite the TLS wisdom, UCI places as well as USC in big law. The first class's numbers were low in big law because a disproportionate number of those grads compared to other schools went into PI. As it stands now, the Class of 2013 will have a higher % of grads going into big law than Class of 2012. Class of 2014 has somewhere between 25-30 people going to big law SA positions (CDO hasn't given us the full results from Spring OCI yet).

hahahaha.

so you're saying UCI places as well as USC/UCLA? even with UCI's tiny class size, that isn't true. it certainly won't be true once UCI's class size rapidly expands.

I wish there was a way to have a post minimum in order to post in a UCI thread. There are way too many low count posters who exclusively post in UCI threads.

Thanks for doing the simple math for him.

Also, I'm glad you're so versed in UCI's admissions strategy. As Chem and Dean Austin have said, the plan is to keep the class size at 120 for a few years.

Another perfect example of the baseless TLS hate for UCI.

What type of job and what type of pay do you expect after graduation to pay of these loans?
