From reading the thread, OP, you just don't want to go to chicago, so you're looking at columbia. When I started this cycle, I was prepared to go to columbia at sticker. With their employment data in nyc, it's a place from which I do not fear debt.

So, I talked to my parents and some money came through. I was able to get the debt load for Columbia down to about $210k. With possible SEO $ and 2L SA, that becomes very doable, so I'll be depositing there tomorrow. Thank you guys for all the advice. I know I'm going counter to a lot of it, but it was still helpful in guiding my thought process.

People on TLS are ridiculous when it comes to Georgetown. Seems like an easy choice for GULC. I mean, really you want to go 3x in debt to go somewhere else. Are you really worried about being in the bottom 20% of the class?

+1 I hope you get my seat! Matter of fact, I should have listed that as a condition on my deferral agreement. "I promise to come next year only if txdude gets the seat I'm vacating this year."

Um, yeah, the OP should reasonably expect to be around the median and median outcomes at Georgetown and CLS are dramatically different. So different as to make the choice he made 100% defensible.
