Ohio Law Schools: Akron vs. Cleveland-Marshall vs. Case
Currently deciding between these schools. I have been accepted to both Akron and Cleveland-Marshall so far, possible Case acceptance is around the corner as well.
I have checked LST regarding Cleveland and Akron. Akron has slightly better employment score (50%) vs. CM (44.3%). However, I see starting salaries at Akron are around $55k while CM is a little higher at $73k (not sure if these even mean anything since it supposedly is just counting the ones who decided to report).
I live in Akron, have a house here not far from the campus so there's that benefit, plus the fact I spent my whole life here, and have about 4 lawyers in the family so I have a bit of local name recognition if that even means anything...plus went to Akron for UG. So if not Akron, it means I'll be moving and adding additional expenses.
Akron is giving me a $18,500 renewable scholly contingent on being in the top 15% for the whole thing or 30% for half. No scholarship offer from CM yet but I assume I'll be granted some kind of merit aid.
Different people tell me different things about which school is better. I have a friend who is a 3L at CM now who chose it over Akron and other 3L friends who did the opposite. Should I just pick a school based on what LST reports say or is there more to it?

Do not go to a school that offers you a "scholarship" with stipulations outside of good academic standing.

Not counting on it, well aware of "section stacking" and that sort of thing. However, I think Akron does have lowest in-state tuition and no matter what I'm paying at almost $10k less to start with (since I get half the scholly for the first semester).Crowing wrote:that's a really bad stip from akron. i definitely wouldn't count on keeping the scholly

That's the worst stip I've ever seen. Can you get it removed?
