UF doesn't really do full rides

I see folks on LSN getting 48k schollys. That would mean they pay ~8k for three years tuition. (OP is FL resident right)?

Tuition is $21,400, so about $16,000 plus increases in tuition.

What would be your total debt out of Stetson? If zero, I would just do that.

Yeah 0 debt is awesome if you can live with your parents or something..

45k is pretty good at FSU! Does that mean that your cost of living will be covered no matter what? (I'm guessing tuition is something like 16-18k, so I am curious as to where the 45k total debt figure came from since you said you currently have no $$ there). If your living is going to be covered (through savings or parental help) then you have pretty great options.

If you're considering FSU and Tulane, I'd throw an app at LSU too. They're pretty Louisiana centric, but grads going to texas and florida aren't out of the question, esp if you have ties. Plus there are a few Gulf Coast regional mid-law firms that you might be able to transfer between. At the worst, you might get money and be able to use that as leverage to negotiate with FSU.

And just so I don't sound like a home-team fan boy, don't go to any school in Louisiana at out-of-state sticker.

No one gives a shit about LSU in FL.

I could be mistaken but I think those are exclusively in-state waivers, which they do hand out like candy. But beyond the in-state waivers, I don't think they offer very much aid at all (same with FSU).

Thanks a lot for all the input guys, I really appreciate it.

Yes my debt out of Stetson would be essentially 0. I have a place to stay.

I also have a place to stay in Tally as well, hence my 45k figure.

Well in that case I wouldn't really consider UF unless you retake. I would probably still lean towards FSU for $45k instead of Stetson for free but it's up to you.

Geez. 0 debt at Stetson if he stays top half..... I might do that actually. I mean.... if you follow the guides on here and read getting to maybe you can get top half pretty easy. Like, 80% chance of that.....

Dude, OP, I would seriously consider Stetson. And if they can make it a top 2/3 or good standing stip... I'd be on that like a fly on crap.

ETA: assuming you don't retake like you should and go T14.

No one gives a shit about Temple or Tulane in FL either (and a very little shit about W&M and UM), but the OP still applied and is looking for options. He could probably get an out-of-state waiver which makes LSU a decent deal if you don't mind working mid-law in Louisiana... maybe a shot at TX if you're top 10%... or, like I said, he could end up in a regional firm with offices throughout the gulf coast, and possibly pull a lateral transfer after a few years of WE.

I'd also throw an app at UGA and maybe Georgia State, but I'm guessing the Atlanta market is harder to crack than Baton Rouge/ NOLA. Again, this isn't exactly NYC biglaw, but if the OP simply wants to be a lawyer and can keep his total CoA <60k, some of these smaller state schools become serious options.

Thanks a lot for the input guys.

To update, I was just accepted to UF and was informed I am being considered for scholarship money from FSU.

Seems like everyone feels my options are pretty close ( hence my dilemma I suppose), maybe I should make a poll once I hear back from FSU?
