Top Law Schools

In short, these are the offers I'm thinking of: FSU ($45k in scholly) vs UF ($27k in scholly) and would just like to know who would choose what and why. I'm working on leveraging the fsu offer to get more from uf but the financial person and I have been playing phone tag all day! I'll have more details to follow when I get them. So far I've been accepted at these 2, GW with ~$40k and chicago-kent: $90k, and U. of Maryland (FAFSA issues so no money yet.) I want to go with the best deal/best school in order to graduate with as little debt as possible yet have pretty good marketability! Thanks for all the insight!

There's lots of threads on FSU vs UF, just search down this page and the next few and you might find a lot of good answers.

Seems like general consensus is to go to UF unless FSU is considerably cheaper, you want to work in government, or you like Tally better. Have you visited both schools?

So far this year, it doesn't seem like anyone on TLS has had luck negotiating with UF and last year one person reported having their scholarship increased (this would be done through admissions, btw, not financial aid)

I successfully got more money from UF this cycle. I contacted admissions (via email) with $$$ from a 20-30 range school and they said they have a no-matching policy but would be happy to re-review my file. Never hurts to try.

Nice! Do you mind if I ask how much more they gave you? I asked for more based on 1/2 tuition from WUSTL, but never heard back.

$27K total--->$42K total. I was pretty surprised and it was a huge game changer but I ended up withdrawing after deciding that I don't really want to work in FL. I also visited right before and sent an updated resume with the request...not sure if either of those made a difference or not.
