Which school would you choose? I am from CT but distance is not a concern and I am willing to relocate just about anywhere.

Washington and Lee and Pepperdine both gave me $22,000 each, whereas the others, I still have to hear from.

Geographic preference is going to play a huge role here. Additionally, to which markets, besides CT, do you have ties to? Did you apply to UConn?

These are all regional schools. Fordham being the most likely to give you BigLaw chances (if that's something you would like to pursue.)

Otherwise, go to the school in the market you want to work that will leave you with the least amount of debt.

I did apply to UConn, and my preference is to work and live somewhere warm. I figured that since I was given an opportunity to get a good education at Pepperdine, or UC Davis, and get paid to do so, I figured it was a win win. I did get into Uconn, however, they gave me no money (oddly enough). I even went to undergrad at UConn. Seems like they dont really care about maintaining their alum.

The town of Davis would be very nice to live in.

...have you been to Davis?

To the OP: These are all regional schools and they're pretty much going to limit you to their area. Pick where you want to work and go to that school.

FWIW: If you are unaware of Pepperdines political leanings:

http://law.pepperdine.edu/about/christian-tradition/

One of my favorite portions:

"Pepperdine keeps a vital affiliation with Churches of Christ of which its founder, George Pepperdine, was an elder and lifelong member. That affiliation is maintained today through policy and government (a majority of the Board of Regents must be Church of Christ members in good standing), through regular recruitment of students, faculty, and staff from within Church of Christ fellowships, and through the office and activities of Church Relations."

In a somewhat similar vein, George Mason is known to be a quite conservative law school as far as political leanings go. Just in case you didn't know and that has any bearing on your willingness to go there (it did for me).

I'm at Ohio State and love it! If you have any questions about it, feel free to ask here or PM me :)

Yeah, I hope to own a house there someday. The only downside to the location is the cost of trainfare between there and San Francisco.

The problem I had was that I took the LSAT in December and decided to apply to a bunch of schools thinking that I wouldn't get into a bunch because my file would be at the bottom of the pile. So i ended up choosing to apply to schools that I would like to go to. In some cases, like that of Pepperdine, Fordham and OSU, I chose to apply there because they have really strong Dispute Resolution programs. There were multiple factors that affected my decision on where to apply, including distance, location, national reputation, program choices, etc, but now I am in a bind because I thought I would be much more limited in choices than I actually am.

If you absolutely had to choose, where would you go?

I can see why a lot of people have chosen Fordham in my poll.

I commuted from Davis to the SF area this past summer. Don't do this. Though now there's wifi in the Capital Corridor train, which helps. But still, don't do this. The furthest out I'd live and even think about commuting would be like Vallejo.

But Davis is a sweet town if you don't mind not living in a city.
