GULC v Mich
I haven't been offered any scholarship money from either, so that's not an issue. I'm primarily interested in PI or Gov, so my question is whether I should opt for the higher prestige and smaller class size of Mich or the geographic advantage of being in DC. From what I can tell, GULC sends more people into PI and Gov, but it's hard to tell how many people are settling after not finding a biglaw gig.
Sidenote: I also was accepted to NU, but I don't see any advantage to going there based on my interests.
Any and all advice would be much appreciated.

I just received notice that UMich is offering me a $45,000 scholarship. That just about seals the deal for me. If I try and leverage that with Georgetown, though, about how much would they have to offer for Georgetown to be the better value?

I am making the same decision and turning down GULC is going to be so, so hard for me. I LOVE DC, want to do policy work, and hate college towns. I just got into Mich last week so I'm not sure what they are going to offer me yet, but being in DC and being able to do internships throughout the year sounds so phenomenal. Mich does have a much more comprehensive LRAP, though, and the salary cap is $13k higher.
Ugh I hope NYU/Columbia comes through.

Bump.
Does anyone have any insight into what kind of offer from GULC would make it the better choice?

I'm hesitant to go to Georgetown. The class sizes are enormous and competitive. Michigan is more likely to nab you a great job after graduation in whatever you want to do.

It looks like GULC gives out scholarships in increments of $15k, so it would take at least a $60k offer for me to consider GULC over Michigan. If you do well at Michigan, it certainly won't keep you out of DC.RamblinBoyofPleasure wrote:Bump.

Is your name a Lawrence Arms reference, btw?
