IP -George Mason v. GW

Hello! First time poster here. I wanted to get some feedback.
I want to do IP, and my undergrad is in Electrical Engineering Technology. How would you rank Mason's IP program verses GW?
I know GW is top 3 for IP, but is it worth the extra cost?

I can't speak for GMU, but IP GWU students seem to do very, very well compared to their peers.

If you're in-state and want to do Patent Prosecution in DC, I'd go to GMU over GW. If you're out of state, if you can get into GW, you might be able to get a scholly at GMU.
If you're interested in patent litigation, I'd probably take GW, because they have more biglaw firms with patent litigation groups that come to interview on campus. However, litigation is quite selective, and if you don't have decent grades at any school, you'll be shut out.

Why would one go to law school at all to do a job that doesn't require a law degree?

If you have the tech background to do patent law, you should go wherever is cheapest. Firms tend to care less about school prestige when it comes to patent lawyers.

To get paid more, have the ability to do other work like licensing, opinion work, etc., to have a chance at partnership...
